Benedict Wong Reveals Details About His Role In Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE

Benedict Wong will be playing 'Wong' in Doctor Strange but don't expect him to be a servant of the Ancient One or Sorcerer Supreme. Instead, Wong will serve a very different function at Kamar-Taj.

In early comic book depictions of Doctor Strange's manservant, Wong was little more than a butler, Alfred to Stephen Strange's Batman.  However, recent comic book writers have reinvented the character as a capable combatant and knowledgeable practitioner of the mystic arts in his own right.  According to Benedict Wong, it looks as if Marvel Studios will definitely be using the more modern version of the character as inspiration for their film.  "I’m certainly not going to be the tea-making manservant. We’re heading in a different direction. He’s more of a drill sergeant.”

However, it looks as if the martial arts element of Wong will be left behind and the character will strictly rely on magic.  "There isn’t any martial arts for Wong in Doctor Strange actually, he’s more of a drill sergeant to Kamar-Taj. He’s one of the masters of sorcery."

B.D. finished up the interview with Den of Geek by admitting that he's heard nothing regarding a sequel for the film but he'd happily return if asked.

Doctor Strange
will arrive in US theaters on November 4.

@slickrickdesigns - I'm going with edibles on this one, gonna have to time it right. If I can figure it out for the float tanks I'll be good with the movies, oh yeah and Uber helps hahaha

@thekabsin - Nice, I just had some Wax cookies this past weekend... Definitely a relaxing time. If I was doing anything edible I'd probably take some shrooms.

@thekabsin -
Edibles seldom work for me, but that's the right idea, as well as a pre-show smoke. By the time the movie starts after the trailers and waiting, I may as well be sober. But that's where a nice bottle of somethin somethin comes into play.
