DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Leaked Funko Pops Feature More Variants And The Illuminati

The second wave of Funko Pops for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have found their way online, and you might be surprised by the Illuminati member the company has decided to feature here...

By JoshWilding - May 10, 2022 12:05 PM EST

As per usual, the second wave of Funko Pops for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be a little more spoilery than the first. Now, a first look at the upcoming Pops has been revealed, and there are some definite must-haves for fans. Two of the former Sorcerer Supreme's Variants will receive the spotlight with the twisted "Sinister Strange" and Defender Strange's possessed corpse, "Dead Strange."

There will also be [SPOILER WARNING] a new take on America Chavez pulled from the movie's closing scene as she trains to be a sorcerer and control her reality-hopping powers in Kamar-Taj.

Perhaps most interesting about this wave is the inclusion of Captain Carter. While her role in the Doctor Strange sequel was first teased on a poster, it wasn't until recent TV spots that we got to see a little more of the Variant in action. Captain Marvel, on the other hand, has been heavily featured in trailers from the start, so it's a little surprising not to see her or Professor X here.

The latter is another member of The Illuminati who was teased by Marvel Studios early on, and you have to believe many fans would kill to get merchandise featuring that floating yellow wheelchair. What about Mister Fantastic and Black Bolt? We hope they're coming, but the level of secrecy surrounding their cameos might make that unlikely. After all, we still don't have Funkos of Spider-Man: No Way Home's Variant Peter Parkers, and that movie was released way back in December.

Which Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Funko Pops do you want to see next?

America went from having to moms to having two dads

@TheHumanSpider2 - America is definitely going to be one the biggest heavy hitters of the MCU in the future. She's basically what the Darkhold wanted to be & now a sorcerer in one.

@SonOfAGif - I hope they do more interesting things with her powers, because she just punching people isnt that interesting (never read her comic books, no idea what she can do there).

@TheHumanSpider2 - She can punch someone into an alternate reality and leave them there

@SonOfAGif - That doesnt sound easy to translate to a movie...then again, they did a good job tranlating such a super power like "luck" into a movie...

@TheHumanSpider2 - She did just that in MoM...she punched Wanda and opened a rift to what looked like a volcanic planet and then punched her again into the Illuminati verse so Billy and Tommy can be scared of her.

Sincerely LOVED this movie. I hadn’t been feeling anything much of Phase 4, but this brought so much energy and creativity that I haven’t seen in an MCU film in quite some time. Along with the camera movement and Raimi’s signature styles which I know isn’t for everyone but it for sure was for me.

What I love honestly is how there’s not much of a “plot” if that makes sense. There’s definitely a story, but it’s sequenced like a superhero horror/slasher hybrid when it’s all momentum and action. It kept me from being bored (aside from when there’s a bit of exposition dump from Strange to America)

Loved the entire cast and surprised how much I liked America especially.

Can’t wait to watch a second time

@NightBoyWonder - Same here! The thing is America isn't a pretentious smartass like Kate Bishop.

She's very likable. Want to see more of her journey.

@Fogs - She willing to TRAIN to get better is already a plus.

@Waddles - It's normal for us to love even our dumb pretentious friends lol

@Fogs - I’m not sure what it was about Kate Bishop but maybe it was just the Hawkeye show I couldn’t get behind the character. America was likable for me from the jump. She has an OP power sure, but she has to control it and ties into her own personal development as well. It’s a simple trope, but I’m surprised it’s not used more for some of these characters, it works so effectively.

It’s been hard to route for characters that are OP or ridiculously strong and talented but they’re personal growth doesn’t tie into their skill set if that makes sense

Also this movie shows yet again how Strange is a MASTER of the mystic arts vs Wanda who is raw power and revenge like a force of nature. I love seeing that difference, because it’s less about how powerful he will be or is, but how he’ll find an outcome in these situations

So is John Krasinski directing F4 then?

@PhoenixBlade - that's my expectation as well

@PhoenixBlade - I didn’t think of that but it sort of tracks. He’s a fairly new director that’s made 2 successful films and has acted and directed himself before. That’s kind of the Marvel MO at this point is new directors who have a few hits under their belt that Marvel can mold as they see fit
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 5/10/2022, 3:22 PM
@PhoenixBlade - Probably, I dont see any other reason why he would be open to make the cameo.

Hmmm......someone just pointed out that when Scarlett Witch confronts the Illuminati....technically each one of the illuminati initiates the fight with Wanda.

Not too sure she can be blamed for defending herself.

did anyone hear the rumor about tom cruise as iron man?

i was really hoping that was true lol.

too bad.

the theory came about because tom was originally going to be cast as iron man. it would have been fun to see. but i guess even if this was the plans, i can never see tom agreeing to being killed the way the illuminati died off

it was a less violent Invincible massacre haha. still, couldnt believe marvel went there. especailly how black bolt died
