Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released next March, and a trailer arriving before the end of the year feels like an inevitability. Marvel Studios has to continue to hype Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home for now, of course, but a sneak peek being attached to the web-slinger's next adventure makes perfect sense given its ties to Strange and the Multiverse.
Daniel Richtman isn't the most reliable source, but he does often hit the nail on the head with trailer release dates. Now, he's claiming our first look at the Doctor Strange sequel will arrive in December.
This isn't exactly a shock, especially as it's easy to imagine the trailer debuting shortly before Spider-Man: No Way Home's release on December 17. The Multiverse is clearly going to factor into future MCU stories in a big way over the next couple of years, and it probably won't be too tricky to tease Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness without spoiling his team-up with the wall-crawler.
There are almost countless rumours surrounding the Sam Raimi-helmed sequel, though it's widely believed that Doctor Strange will be forced to protect America Chavez from the Scarlet Witch. She's going to tear through the Multiverse searching for her children, and a hero like America - who can hop between realities - could be pivotal in tracking Tommy and Billy down.
If even half the claims about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are correct, we're in for a wild, crazy ride. Hopefully, this first look is on the way in the next couple of months because it's about time Marvel Studios pull back the curtain on the Sorcerer Supreme's next solo outing.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released in theaters on March 25, 2022.
