There's still a lot we don't know about
Eternals, but thanks to star Kumail Nanjiani, we now have quite a bit more to go on. During a recent conversation with
The Deadline Podcast, the actor revealed that most of the action scenes were shot during the second half of production, and the cast primarily filmed with practical effects rather than relying on green screen.
Nanjiani also praised director Chloe Zhao, revealing that she wasn't at all intimidated by the size of the project, and added that she has now started editing the Marvel Studios movie.
Now, if you've read the comic books, you'll know that Kingo learned the ways of the Samurai during the 16th Century, and uses those skills in the present day to become a movie star in Japan. This version is set to undergo some major changes, though, and will be a Bollywood actor instead.
According to Nanjiani, his Kingo is also a movie star and the character does indeed dance alongside around 50 South-East Asian actors for a sequence which sounds like it's come straight out of a Bollywood movie. He adds that seeing this blew him away, as he couldn't quite believe it was going to end up on screen (however, he also noted that
Eternals boasts a very diverse cast).
It definitely sounds like this movie is going to be unlike anything else we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before now, and this sort of representation in this shared world is long overdue.
Eternals is set to be released on November 6th, 2020!
