"They say there are four sides to every story, well, in this story, you will have your side, along with the four sides being told to you. You are Batman. These four sides are pawns, to a game you must play. This is not The Riddler, This is not The Joker, I am The Element. Four of your foes will hold a key piece of knowledge, they are unknowingly my own personally chosen elements. You will need them to find me, and only I know every truth and answer you seek to know."
This is what the letter read, left at the gates of Wayne Manor, it is the catalyst for what kicks off the story.
So, while it would take me forever to transition my ENTIRE story into an article, then, well, here are the main bullet points of Batman: Elements..
*The first element Batman discovers and faces is Penguin, whom is the element of AIR, and is preparing a meeting atop Iceberg Lounge for a major chemical shipment arriving to Gotham, and after a physical confrontation, he then reveals the next element..
*Mr. Freeze and his element, Water. In my story, Victor Fries is an older man, kind of gloomy in his presence, and he takes to heart the fact that his wife has been staying to long cryogenic-ally frozen, so his body always generates this fog-like frosted wind in the atmosphere around him. This is where Bruce goes all psychotherapy on him and convinces him without physical damage of any kind to reveal anything he knows about the next element, when Gordon radio's him in a new breaking news update firefly just broke out of Arkham, and Batman immediately knows that he is the fire element.
*After a lengthy but quickly wrapped up battle, and some discussion following the apprehension of Firefly, Batman is required to use his detective skills to learn the next clue to the final element. He then learns the method at which these guys are given as to being and becoming their respective element. These guys are asked do a criminal mastermind job, in anonymous fashion, after being promised a desired extra, and then they go about their business, without knowing who is behind the mission, just learning through hearsay during the mission who recruited them.. and likewise, before leaving Firefly to the Gotham Police, he speaks the only clue he knows, "Why don't you make like Rome and go build with a day's worth of clay!"
*So, Batman discovers the fourth element of earth, is Clayface after all, and engages in a grueling battle to get as much information as he can out of them, Clayface reveals that the only thing he knows is that the answer lies with his son, Damien Wayne, on the moment of midnight, on his birthday, that The Element will reveal a clue himself to the entire Wayne Family.. What could Damien possibly have that connects everything to this?
* My design for Clayface is a vicious circus-style strongman who is thug like, similar to Bane and Killer Croc in my visions, in some ways, but he is pushed to near homicidal rage and is purely obsessed with Clay masks!
* When Damien's birthday arrives, they patiently await midnight, and then a single ring at the doorbell reveals one long black box with a black ribbon, and inside is the sword Bruce trained with when he was with the league of shadows..
*Bruce, was now lost, as he has now opened the search for answers by a whole new chapter, one that could lead him across the world in discovery of the truth!
*After a few weeks, he decides to take to the skies and travel to the exact location left in ruins in the wake of disaster which followed his training, to find a whole new and improved temple built on it's former ruins! Inside he finds a black cloaked figure, who engages in a lengthy explanation as to his motives behind being the element, and that Bruce should know better, to follow the one element that he himself taught Wayne, Survival.
*Upon this revelation was the startling realization that The Element, is truly Ra's Al Ghul, reborn again! So, after a long and pretty equally matched batter between the two, Bruce ends up inadvertently throwing him through a window into a fire cauldron which is surrounded by torches and ritualistic magic totems looking on without expression but setting the tone of major disappointment..
So, in end, Alfred narrates to the viewer, in Gotham, the laws of physics are just like everywhere else, we live with world's four basic elements, and for everything else, there's.. Batman.
