Act 1, Scene 1
An undercover rookie federal agent disguised as a mobster attends a crisis meeting of all the most prominent gangs in Gotham City. The gathering was organized to decide the mob's next course of action after the chaos that ensued during "the Dark Knight".
The leaders of the gangs, amongst them Rupert Thorne and Lew Moxon, are in a private room discussing affairs; ranging from whether or not they should start doing business with illegal arms dealer, Oswald Cobblepot to what further action they should take against Batman.
Alberto Falcone: Lewie, Rupe... listen to me. Just let me explain why I'm against doing business with this corpulent schmuck.
Rupert Thorne: You lack this little thing called seniority, son.
Lew Moxon: Yeah, go back and play with your little plushy toys, kid.
Alberto Falcone: You're going to regret buying from him, Rupe! He'll stab us in the back. I guarantee you.
Rupert Thorne: You got that old fiery Falcone spirit in you, son. I'll give you that. Just like your old man (At this point, Alberto glares at him, fists clenched. You got 5 minutes. Amuse me.
Alberto Falcone: First reason... he's a professionally diagnosed sociopath. You got your run-of-the-mill arms dealer. You got your own weapon-manufacturing corporations. Hell, you can even steal from bloody Wayne Enterprises if you're desperate. But you never, and I mean NEVER... deal with a sociopath. Remember how that turned out last time?
(Silence)
Alberto Falcone: Secondly... he's expensive.
Lew Moxon: But convenient.
Alberto Falcone: I don't think there's anything CONVENIENT about expensive sociopaths, Lewie. He'll charge THRICE as much as what you would get from stealing off of Wayne Enterprises or your own goddamn factories.
Rupert Thorne: I don't know where you've been for the past couple of years, junior... but there's this one little vigilante that you've forgotten about.
Alberto Falcone: The police will take care of him.
Lew Moxon: The Batman's always three steps ahead of the police. It's an abysmal obstacle. He'll still stop the "transactions".
Rupert Thorne: And in any case, I'm not willing to take that risk. My men, your men... even Lewie's men... are more afraid of the Batman than they are of us and are even more so after news broke out that the Bat's a cop-killer.
Lew Moxon: What Rupe is trying to say is that if the Bat has a word with one of our "loyal" henchmen... the cops will be able to pin the theoretical heist on us.
Alberto Falcone: But the guy's a fu***ng PENGUIN!
Rupert Thorne: And that, unfortunately, is our last resort.
Alberto Falcone: You're not willing to do what is necessary. Fine. But I am. You don't have balls, Rupe.
Rupert Thorne: Watch your mouth, son.
(Thorne's bodyguard approaches Falcone and sticks a blade to his throat)
(Thorne signals for him to cease)
(Thorne's bodyguard retreats)
Lew Moxon: Anyway... Maroni's kid's husband is coming to take over the family business. He'll arrive in a couple of days.
Rupert Thorne: (sarcastic) Great... that Sionis kid. From what I hear... temperamental and mentally unstable.
Lew Moxon: Don't forget violent... sadistic. Once had someone's decapitated finger eaten by that same person.
Rupert Thorne: Since when did this town become a cuckoo hut? You remember the good old days, don't you Lewie?
Lew Moxon: Sure do. Well time flies. Sorry, gents. Need to get home to keep the Mrs. happy.
Rupert Thorne: Alright, Lewie. You take care.
Lew Moxon: You too, Rupe. (Moxon exits)
(Rupert Thorne gets up and straightens and buttons his coat)
Rupert Thorne: I got my eyes on you, kid.
FIN
Well this is my first time writing for ComicBookMovie and I must say I am pretty overwhelmed. I have read dozens of articles published here and I have noticed that these articles are astounding in their ingenuity and the many authors of these articles are pretty damn creative.
Please post your thoughts and comments. Constructive criticism is, as always, much appreciated.
