Opinions on Joe Johnston’s adaptation of the iconic comic book character have varied, some finding it cheesy while others appreciate it. I for one am dead excited about it ever since the first batch of official photos hit the web.
I’m quite pleased with every last member of the cast they’ve put together, and am considering taking a vacation from work to fly to whatever [reasonably near] country that’ll allow me to see it the soonest.
That being said, like most fans of anything, I have my own ideas of what would be a good Captain America movie. I’m not too chuffed about the USO angle, for one thing. Some may have been following the installments of my own Captain America screenplay [Which you can read here: PART 1 <<< PART 2 <<< PART 3 <<< PART 3.5 <<< PART 4 <<< PART 5], this is the cast I would’ve had for my screenplay.
Steve Rogers
An intelligent but frail young man from 1940s Brooklyn who, spurred by the ever growing wave of German aggression, made numerous attempts to join any of the branches of the American military. His persistence grabbed the attention of Colonel Chester Philips, who recruited him to be one of 150 candidates for the country’s radical super-soldier program. Through his grit and determination, Rogers was one of the 23 finalists and the first in line to be administered the super-soldier treatment.
Peggy Carter
An agent of the British government who’d operated in Germany, Austria and Holland since the late thirties, having several sporadic encounters with Steve Rogers along the way.
I’d keep both Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell. Neither were my original choice, but I’m completely sold by Marvel’s choice and I look forward to seeing their performances.
Rami Malek as
Cpl. James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes
A young soldier serving in a US Army Company fighting in Guadalcanal. Rami Malek’s past credits include a glittering performance as battle-maddened Marine Merriel Shelton on HBO’s The Pacific.

With
Randy Couture as

Randy Couture is a MMA athlete nicknamed Captain America for his imposing physique and prior service in the US Army. Who better than Captain America to whip Captain America into shape?
Kenneth Branagh as
President Roosevelt
President of the United States who approved Project Rebirth and following the termination of Project Rebirth, ordered Steve Rogers to do all that could be done with what he was given.
Branagh previously played FDR in Warm Springs. Besides, he’s already working for Marvel, so why not?
