Captain America Casting: The Villains

Choose the villain (besides Red Skull) that you would most want to see face off against Cap in Joe Johnston's live-action The First Avenger: Captain America.

Okay, we're assuming that Cap's mortal enemy, Red Skull, will appear in TFACA--he's pretty much Cap's "Joker"--but Cap has a whole host of despicable villains in his rogues gallery. What other villain would you most like to see square off against Cap in the big screen adaptation? Remember: it's possible that the film will take place in WWII and in modern times.

I got a QUESTION!

How the F' can CROSSBONES be in a WWII CAP movie????

Maybe in CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 but not the first one?
bsprecher
bsprecher - 8/16/2009, 8:59 AM
@LEEE: We know that the movie will take place, at least in part, in WWII, but that doesn't mean the entire movie will be in WWII. And, since Crossbones is a major Red Skull henchman and was instrumental in Cap's assassination, he's a likely contender.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 8/16/2009, 9:00 AM
He can be in present day..it would be too much to have him in both. Zemo is just a Red Skull wannabe!
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 8/16/2009, 9:03 AM
Ohhhh okay BRENT @ I thought most of it was gonna be WWII set up for the AVENGERS, my bad! ; )

I hope we get HITLER in this too, so he can get a hard red white an blue shield in the face! : D

Personally I think Cap should fight who ever picked Joe Johnston to direct this. But if he's unavailable, I'd have to go with Zemo.

Bijous - 8/16/2009, 9:08 AM
He's not a very cool or original villain, but Master Man is really the only one who can go toe-to-toe with Cap in hand-to-hand combat. Remember Punisher's fight with that big blonde dude in the first Punisher? Just swap out Punisher for Cap and that's a kick-ass fight!

Oh, hey, LEEE! Just for you! Check it out:

@Rorschach: I agree with you! The first Punisher was gold compared to War Zone. How could they go so wrong?

Bijous thats Kevin Nash, hes a wrestler with TNA.

That Ackles/Squirrel gif is hilarious!

I too hated the flat mates but the movie was 10 times better that Warzone.

Seeing as this will (probably) be the only Captain America movie set in WWII and will more than likely feature The Red Skull as the main villain I would prefer to save villains like Crossbones for future Cap movies set in the present day.

For that reason I woud choose Master Man as he would make a brilliant henchman to The Red Skull and is really the best choice for a villain who could go toe to toe with Captain America in an all out superhero brawl!!
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 8/16/2009, 9:22 AM
MASTER MAN sounds like a bad cartoon! : D

I agree with JOSH though about future movies, or CROSSBONES will just feel rushed!

BIJOUS @ MICROCHIP! The big guy with glasses who's FRANKS friend an partner!

JOHN CENA AS CROSSBONES =

Yeah i know, but he was good in 12 ROUNDS an great for the part!
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 8/16/2009, 9:36 AM
No wrestlers for speaking parts in movies! Unless its The Rock..or maybe John Cena who is not supposed to be too awful.

For Cross bones, Vin Diesel i guess..he never takes that mask off so his voice and look would suit.
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 8/16/2009, 9:38 AM
BRENT @ Yeah i think so!

I should find a more classic look lol.

ROR @ VINS NAMOR! ; D
Bijous

I have to agree with Ror for the most part: no wrestlers, please. That being said, I never saw Cena act, so who knows...

Please, please, please no Vin Diesel! That guy sucks eggs!

In the Incredulous Hulk we had the Abomination. In Iron Man we got the Iron Monger. The Avengers have a lot of equal opposites and the writers tend to use them as the first movie villian. I am tiring of this so i would rather see Baron Von Struck. besides i think that he would fit into a WW2 scenario the best.

Ror-01 is right that the villians are pretty lame. I love how Cap is always running around the marvel-verse beating up on other heroes nemesis's and what not.

@Roro-01 : do you all have "Truck Nuts" over up in there ? Ire Land that is.

Oh and my vote for the Baron is the big guy from the WatchMen or Liam Neeson. what? its early .
