I don't know what's happening or rather what could have caused it but lately, all the uproar has been to cast DC's very own Captain Marvel. Now originally, Black Adam was to apear in the big red cheese's feature film and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was to be the actor to play him and rightfully so. Simply no other actor had as many of the physical requirements under his belt to justly portray this intriguing villain. But what of Captain Marvel???
It's been rumoured that the 1st contender would be Brandon Molale on account of his resemblance to the character as well as his deep interest in playing the part. However, i feel that "talent", or lack there of, speaks for itself and in my personal opinion, Molale's unworthy of such a compelling character. Especially since going toe to toe with Dwayne, i'd be more inclined to root for the bad guy in Molale's case. Ten years ago, Patrick Warburton had the looks and the charisma needed to play Captain Marvel. Today however, time has taken it's toll and his very reputation would single handedly make a mockery of this ever so underused hero. And because of the shadow cast by Captain Marvel's big blue brother, a bad rep is the last thing he needs to sell tickets.
For us comic book fans that are eager to see they're childhood heroes on the big screen, we tend to picture how they could be represented. And since all we have for "actor swatches" are past enjoyed performances, it is quite difficult to picture an unknown actor since we don't have the assurance that an actor with all the requirements exists. And i haven't read many of Captain Marvel's comics however, i've always been inexplicably fond of that character. He always had that "je ne sais quoi" that i always felt Superman lacked most of the time. But by putting my "business oriented" hat on, i can thoroughly understand why studio executives would be hesitant in attributing this character a big enough budget. Naturally, his concept of being a boy that transforms into a "super" man doesn't necessairely appeal to every average movie goer in our day and age. However, i firmly believe that with a well thought, profound and mature script (meaning not geared towards spykids) and a decently talented actor, this superhero has what it takes to make it big.
Which brings me to my choice of actor. Since in Black Adam's story, we find out that both Captain Marvels are indeed identical to C.C. Batson, why not chose the same actor for the two roles? If no other actor is more fit than Dwayne Johnson to portray Black Adam, who else but Dwayne Johnson could give Captain Marvel justice??? He has the build, he has the talent which was sufficiently acquired from film to film (this means alot coming from me as you all know, i'm not too keen on wrestlers in comic book films) and he has more than enough experience and charisma to boost this character's popularity and make his feature film debut a success. Not only do i feel that Captain Marvel could benefit from The Rock portraying him, i also feel that Dwayne could benefit from being attached to the next biggest franchise to hit theaters... The Justice League!!! So unless we are struck by lightning in finding the perfect unknown actor, here's...

The "Shaman" has spoken!!!
Thanks to THE HAWK for his casting choice and for Loganoneil for the character's franchise history and his thoughts.
