Fan Cast: Alan Wake

Fan Cast: Alan Wake

ALAN WAKE. One of the best new thriller games, perhaps of all time! However, what if it was a movie, who would portray these brilliantly in depth characters? Well, I'd like to share my ideas, or maybe you might have others in mind of your own? So, come and decide who would portray the great poet and his muse!

Well, here it is! My casting choices for a movie based on arguably the greatest psychological thriller game of all time, Alan Wake! Ever since I played the game, I always felt Gerard Bulter would be the best actor possible, in looks, style, presence, everything. I chose Julie Benz because she really has been impressive to me lately, with her amazing performance in The Boondock Saints II, to an even better presentation in her acting in No Ordinary Family, I felt she was a natural match for what Gerard Butler brings to the table for things.. Jack Black also was the most comfortable choice for Barry because he was a very hard character to put together! So, What do you all think? Is there better choices you might have in mind?

*UPDATE* I would like to thank CBM, the Alan Wake Facebook Page, and Poets of the Fall, you guys all rock, everyone down to the contributors and supporters. I also feel Ilkka Villi and the rest of the game cast are legitimately the best choices, but this is a Hollywood-style treatment to the franchise, kinda like what happened with Mark Wahlberg in Max Payne, and Timothy Olyphant in Hitman. Those we're quite interesting and talked about films, and I feel this would be VERY talked about! Judging from the facebook comments, I am very proud to having wrote this up. I'd like to thank all of you, and I'd love to take Fan Cast requests, because I'd love to show YOU, the viewer, and the rest of the world, my creative ability to come up with fresh and interesting choices, that perhaps even Hollywood could greatly appreciate and benefit from, but, likewise, this is just the beginning, so, I encourage you, come share your ideas and suggestions, all is welcome! Also, if you have not seen, I recently made a Fan Cast for an Extreme Ghostbusters film, but of course, I need my Ghostbusters III first, It's been a lifelong dream of mine, as I've waited twenty years for that movie already, since I was three years old! Anyways, again, thank you all for listening, and thanks to this website for the creative freedom as a creative writer like myself, as well as Remedy Games for making perhaps one of the greatest games ever thought of to have been created. Without the game I would not have discovered Poets Of The Fall, arguably the greatest band I have ever heard in my life! I just wish they get more exposure soon here in the United States, as well as the world.

I always imagined John Cusack as Alan Wake, maybe it's because of the movie 1408? :P
You should put pics of the videogame characters on here too, so we can look at the comparison.

@Imran, that's the coolest thing! Thank you so much for showing me! I would have never expected the article to get picked up, let alone so quickly, and to that extent! It really is the biggest honor for me ever online! I just hope a lot of people don't think this is a legitimate casting done by a studio, this is purely a well thought out fan cast, so sorry to those who thing this is something that is a go, lol.. I really am taking a liking to this casting thing though, and I can assure you there is so much more to come!

@Dane, You know I heard him being chosen by people before, but when I think of Cusack in a thriller of this magnitude, it will always bring me back to thinking of 1408, which wasn't bad, but it might warp people's perceptions a little because of that.. your right about the pic comparisons too, but I didn't want it to look to crowded, that was my only real hesitation.

Yeah, Rudd did pretty good in the one he was in, I just double checked and it was in fact, Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers, that he was the main character in. He plays a grown up version of Tommy, who was the little boy in the first film that Laurie was babysitting.

*SPOILER ALERT* Also, coincidentally he does in fact, still walks away as a survivor just like he did as a child. One of the few to do so, and in a pretty smart way too..

Personally i see either Adrien Brody or Christian Bale as Alan Wake but Gerard Butler would be good.
