Fantastic Four and the Impossible War

I got my right brain firing and have come up with a plot for a new Fantastic Four movie.

Since the Fantastic Four is up for debate here is my 2 cents. I think the studio should rather make a third movie in the franchise. This way they can maintain some of the actors from the cast. Since Doom wears a mask all the time, it would be easy to cast a new actor in the role. Ralph Fiennes would certainly be a worthy choice to fit Doom's mask. However, Doom is not going to feature as the film's main antagonist. I would like to see more of a science element to the movie.

Now, the obvious thing from the two movies was the Thing's height. In order to make the Thing his true height, the new movie can use the premise that the FF's powers are increasing. In other words, as the Thing's powers get stronger, he, as a result, gets taller and is very soon towering over everyone else, including the Invisible woman. I would vote that of the original cast, only three remain: Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis and Iaon Gruffudd. Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis are indeed perfect for the roles of Torch and The Thing. I never liked Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman and I would welcome Charlize Theron for the role. Movie franchises often use new actors and the audience just goes with it.

Now, I have decided to suggest an idea for a new movie. Please feel free to add on to the story or to comment. Lets see where the movie goes from there.

Reed Richards is in his lab experimenting with a way to travel though hyperspace in order to initiate interstellar travel for humans. He and Herbie have spent months on the project and the other 3 FF are quite annoyed because he has become totally engrossed with his experiments. He inadvertently creates a machine that, rather than initiating hyper travel, becomes a means to open portals with other dimensions. He powers up the machine and immediately it causes a power surge through the Baxter building. As the building begins to shake, a tear in the Space-Time continuum opens inside of Reed's lab. Meanwhile, the rest of New York feels what appears as an earthquake and car alarms go off.

Back at Reed's lab: Large bolts of energy discharge from the tear and it begins to increase in size. A discharge of green energy strikes Herbie’s mainframe and he goes offline. Sue, Johnny and Ben rush upstairs to the lab. They find Reed attempting to disconnect the machine. There is a massive surge. The lab goes dark as the Baxter build loses power. Emergency lighting immediately flickers on, just in time to reveal a massive and repulsive looking creature emerging from the tear. The creature starts crawling its way into the lab. Johnny yells "Flame On" and aims a few fireballs at the creature's face as his body is engulfed in flames. The creature reacts, and with a swipe of it's heavily clawed hand, knocks all the FF onto the floor. It roars. This creates a hypersonic wave that collides with the walls of the lab. Large chunks of steel and concrete fall to the street below and crush some parked cars. The creature is massive and part of its body is still on the other side of the tear, which is not wide enough to permit the creature's entire mass through.

The Thing is the first to recover. At once he smashes Reed's machine. The energy discharges begin to dissipate. The sudden loss of power causes a reversal in the pull of the machine's energy. The creature, still not yet completely through the tear, roars again, sending another hypersonic wave crashing into the concrete reinforced walls of the lab. However, the reversal of pull is great enough to draw the creature back into the tear. Its massive claws dig into the floor forming large gashes but the creature cannot overcome the machine’s pull and it is forced back through the tear. The tear immediately closes and the creature is gone. Dust and debris from the damage settle on the FF and the lab.

After establishing that everyone is unharmed, Reed turns his attention to the mess in the lab. He notices that Herbie is offline. Within a few minutes he has power restored to the building and to the lab. He tells the others that he hopes that nothing else came through the tear. He reboots Herbie. Immediately, Herbie is acting strange. It appears as if something is hacking into Herbie's database and is absorbing large amounts of data. Herbie sounds nervous as if he has a parasite in his circuits. Just as suddenly as the hacking started, it stops. The FF hear a pop and there standing in front of them is a little green man! The little man is curious. He disappears and then pops up on Ben's shoulder. Ben reaches to grab him but he disappears again. He pops up on a console and says "where am I?". "Ooh, who are you?" and points excitedly at the FF. "This place looks like fun", he says with a laugh. He disappears again. There is the sound of a crash. "He's downstairs,” says Sue. The FF rush downstairs to find the little green man mimicking a chair and then a lamp. "That's impossible,” says Reed. The four agree that they can't let the green man out of the Baxter building and into New York City. Ben names the little guy the Impossible Man.

The Impossible Man is soon annoying the FF. Eventually, he does escape from the Baxter Building. With great amusement he starts mimicking objects and people he sees around him. The FF pursue him and he mimics Johnny's and Ben's powers and also the Fantastic Car. There is an ominous figure watching this little green man. This figure is in fact an agent of the Kree empire and has been serving as a spy on earth. He witnessed the chaos at the Baxter building and saw the little green man and is greatly interested in the little man's powers. He sends a message to the Kree high command, informing them of his discovery. It is at this point where the Kree-Skrull war is going to spill over onto Earth.

The Kree have a weapon called the Pysche-Magnatron, which they intend to use to destroy their enemy, the Skrulls. This weapon will allow the Kree to generate an army set with super powers. It also would allow the Kree to possess matter-shaping powers. However, the weapon has been a failure and has killed Kree test subjects rather than enhancing them. When the Kree high command learns of this shape-shifting, power-inducing green man, they realise he is the perfect source to successfully power their weapon. They set about ordering the green man's capture. They send a fleet, and the weapon, to earth. Spies within the Kree's ranks inform the Skrulls that the Kree are headed to Earth. The Skrulls then send their own armada to encounter the Kree at Earth. This will of course lead to a confrontation between the FF and the invading aliens, with Impossible Man in the middle...….

Okay, so I have taken a few creative liberties with this plot, but it's just an idea. Please feel free to continue the plot or to comment on it. I have not completed the storyline because I would love to have input from CBM users. Hope you like it though :)

PS: Maybe Jeffrey Dean Morgan can play a Kree super warrior LOL.
And no, the tear that Reed opens does not lead to the Negative Zone, although he can use the machine to discover the Negative Zone at a later point, and maybe even send a few Skrulls and Kree through, or better yet, send the creature that almost destroys the lab onboard one of the Kree vessels.

I can totally see Rupert Everett as Doom. BTW I have seen the Sherlock Holmes movie that you refer to josh, and Everett was a good Holmes.
I really like Chris and would not like to change him.
CGI for The Thing or actor? Well maybe a combination of both. In Pirates of the Caribbean, for Davy Jones and his crew, they used actors geared in motion caption suits, and they were actually on set. The CGI was laced in afterwards over their faces and bodies. Perhaps the technique could be used for The Thing. That way, you get the portrayal of the character through the actor but the CGI simply enhances his appearance.
I actually picked Charlize based on your suggesstion, but I suppose what everyone wants from Sue Storm is a more intellectual interpretation than what Alba gave us. I can seen that in Charlize Theron. I like Zachery as Namor, but sadly, Namor probably won't be in FF movie. I considered Brian Austin Green for the role of Namor. This is based purely on his role in Terminator. He kinda had the right attitude and he does have the eye browse.
Miller as Galactus is good, and having a voice over actor to add presence to the charactor is fine. It worked for Darth Vader. I once heard the voice of the actor behind Vader's mask - very good thing Lucas went with James Earl Jones. What if Galactus was totally CGI though? With a voice actor?
Mole Man: Levi is a perfect choice. He looks the part and he does give off an intelligent, scientist vibe.

@Leee777 - who is your choice for The Invisible Woman?

Okay, it's past midnight my side, so I will have to catch up with you later :)

I just read that the reason Galactus appeared as a cloud in FF2 was to keep him mysterious and therefore introduce Galactus, as he normally appears, in the Silver Surfer movie.
