I think this would make an amazing origins story(movie-wise) for Nightcrawler. It would show what he had to go through, and who he came from. Compared to what he has become. Kind of a triumph over evil to be the better person type deal.
Now before I begin a little back story is necessary for those of you who don't know.
Neyaphem are a group of demonic looking mutants from biblical times. They were exiled to the brimstone dimension by a group called the Cheyarafim. They are led by Azazel.
Azazel.
A mutant from biblical times, Azazel is the ruler of the Neyaphem and claims that the Earth and everything on it belongs to him. Only being able to set foot on Earth for short periods of time, he impregnates women, so that his children can free him later. He is the father of Nightcrawler, Abyss, and Kiwi Black, among many others.

Mystique. (Raven Darkholme)
True to her name, the shapeshifting Mystique is an enigma. Is she a mutant terrorist determined to bring about the end of humanity, or a misguided mutant with a good heart? She is the mother of Nightcrawler.

Nightcrawler. (Kurt Wagner)
Kurt Wagner is a current X-man and the former leader of Excalibur. The Amazing Nightcrawler, he has physical mutations including blue fur and a prehensile tail, teleportation, shadow melding and wall crawling abilities. He is a devout Catholic, a trained acrobat and a skilled swordsman. He is the son of Azazel and Mystique.

Abyss. (Nils Styger)
Half brother to Nightcrawler. Son of Azazel. Not much else is known about him.

Kiwi Black. (Marcus Skarr)
Kiwi Black was one of the many mutants fathered by Azazel with the aim of freeing him and the rest of the Neyaphem. After surviving a ritual that was meant to free the Neyaphem Kiwi Black fought against his father alongside the X-Men.

Ophis.
Ophis was a member of the Neyaphem, trapped in the brimstone dimension, and a warrior for Azazel.

Yidrazil was a member of the Neyaphem, trapped in the brimstone dimension, and a warrior for Azazel.

Ginniyeh.
Ginniyeh was a member of the Neyaphem, trapped in the brimstone dimension, and a warrior for Azazel.
Rose McGowan as Ginniyeh.
Jillian.
Jillian was a member of the Neyaphem, a group of demonic mutants who were banished to the brimstone dimension. Jillian beared an uncanny likeness to Nightcrawler.

Well, that's it.
Now, on to my ideas.
Basically, what I was thinking we could open up with Mystique giving birth, yada yada, throwing him over the bridge, yada yada, Margali Szardos finds him, do some flash scenes to him struggling with his looks, yada yada, bam he's a teenager, show a little bit of his regular life, bam, he's summoned to do the whole cult thingy to bring azazel back to life. he wakes up and everyone is fighting around him. He takes off running, only to be stopped and pulled aside, he looks up to see Mystique, who has been watching him, knowing that the time was right for Azazel to try to come back to Earth. She explains everything to him, as his two brothers enter, badly beaten, they explain that Azazels time on earth had run out and they were the only two survivors. Deciding to fight back Mystique, Nightcrawler, and his two brothers travel to the Brimstone dimension to confront Azazel. Jillian would randomly appear and say she is sick of living under "her fathers" reign, and wants to be free, she will help them if they take her along. They agree. A Fight ensues, they win. Mystique disappears into the night, and there ya go. I know it's a pretty brief synopsis but its four in the morning and I'm tired. You get the idea though right?
