In the original ending, Michonne stabs the Governor right through the chest leaving him to die a slow, painful death at the hands of the walkers. Lily, a new character that was the Governors brief love affair, puts him out of his misery and shoots him. As exciting as the episode was, I feel the death of the Governor was a little... lame. Here is how I would envision his death;
As the Governor and Rick are fighting to the death, the Governor kicks Rick and he rolls away a bit. The Governor slowly walks towards Rick, saying stuff about life and dying. Just as he is about to give another harsh death blow to Rick, the Governor collapses. An arrow pierces through his leg, and then another. Daryl comes and helps Rick up as Maggie comes and shoots the Governor in the back. Michonne then comes over and stabs him through the chest (like in the show). The Governor is just about to die as a ton of walkers come and start devouring his body. As a mercy shot, Rick uses the last bullet in his gun to put him out.
Rick, Daryl, Maggie, and Michonne all walk away together knowing that each played a part in finishing off the Governor for the things they did to him. For Daryl it was revenge for killing Merle, for Maggie it was how he violated her and killed Hershel, for Michonne it was for revenge against Andrea, and for Rick it was because he destroyed his home and everything else.
Now, I know my version seems slightly more cartoonish or comic-booky, but I feel it would just be fair if the characters who got directly affected by him should have the right to take him down, like a one-two punch.
What do you think of my ending, and what would be yours?
I hope you enjoyed!
