I feel like a better nolanized choice for Mr. Fantastic would be Guy Pearce

Hmm, nah. A Nolanized Fantastic Four probably wouldn't work out due to Nolan's style (which revolves more on psychological thrillers than hardcore science fiction).

I know that Nolan does use basically all the same actors in his recent films. But come on, have a bit of imagination.

@14th Avenger, idk what you mean man, wanna give an example or something? Tdkr is basically the freakin inception cast dude.

@bigk
what are you saying dude,he gave us inception and prestige,two very good sci fi movies and he just started directing movies(only 7 movies and TDKR will be eighth). I'm sure nolan can give us an awesome fantastic 4 movie but i think he should not direct CBMs for some while coz i'd like to see some originals (mostly sci fi but other ones also) from him like inception.

@comix
pretty good cast,i agree bale would be a great Mr. Fantastic but i don't want him to see him as the lead hero in two different CBMs coz it will draw heavy comparison,and anyway he will rock as doom. Love your sue,johny and thing picks,hardy and JgL will kick ass as thing and torch.

@darknlight Inception (my favourite film of all time) and Prestige (also a film that I love) don't fall under pure Sci-Fi, not in the way that films like Star Wars or Star Trek do, or the way Fantastic Four should. They are thrillers with Sci-Fi elements and plot devices. They're not very obvious Sci-Fi, as those elements are backgrounded for the drama and thriller aspects, much in the same way that his Batman films put all the comic book stuff in the very background, while the Thriller, drama and action is foregrounded.

@comix sorry but I agree with most of the other comments, I mean this is just the cast of the Dark Knight Rises. Marion Cotillard is a great actress, but she's no Sue Storm. Christian Bale is an amazing talent, but he's no Reed Richard. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is certainly no Johnny Storm, if anything, he's more of a Peter Parker. Tom Hardy could make a good Ben Grimm though, but only if he can do a spot on perfect Brooklyn accent. As for Cillian, he's better at playing creepy villains like Scarecrow, he's not powerful enough for a dominating villain like Doctor Doom.

@ACira
i agree with you that he havn't directed any 'pure' sci fi movie yet but it doesn't mean he can't or won't,we still havn't seen much of him as a director,he only directed 8 films and 3 of them are batman flicks. I think nolan can make a great FF movie but as i said be4 i want him to make some original movies and definitely i want to see a original pure sci fi movie from him

Too be honest, knowing his taste, he wouldn't have chosen the people you mentioned, aside from possibly Bale as Richards..but most likely more then that he'd of chosen Cillian as him.

Hardy would actually be good as a young DOOM, and so would Bale.

Cottilard is awesome, but not blonde. I see him choosing Rachel McAdams or Scarlett Johanseon.

For Ben...Possibly Hardy but again, not exactly his role.

If Nolan did F4, he would probably pick the cast himself.

Everything but Cillian Murphy as DD. He's an awesome actor, but just not physically big enough to sell the roll.

I'm really digging your Sue choice- best pick I've ever seen here(just dye her hair )

I don't know why Nolan doesn't break into other genres the way other directors of his same style have.

Get NOLAN away from MARVEL!
His style doesn't serve sci-fi
superhero characters at all!

He's good at psychological films.
THE PRESTIGE was excellent but
the sci-fi elements were way toned-down.

This casting is completely wrong!

i think you hit the nail on the head .. i posted along time ago hardy would make a good "thing" ... doom would probably be played by gary oldham though...or however you spell the guys name who plays commisoner gordon.

Garbage. I would not watch it. Especially if Nolan would reuse every actor.
Michael Caine as willy lumpkin
Gary Oldman as Nathaniel Richards?
Unimaginative is putting it lightly.

Except for Marion Cotilard this is a great cast.
Don't get me wrong, I love her, but I just dont feel she is the right choice for Sue.

swap bale and murphy then you have a perfect cast.i'm sure nolan would be more than capable making this movie obviously he can't and shouldn't go the dark and gritty route everyones obssesed with at the moment
