For those who were following this showdown (which was placed on a hiatus for a bit) these are the last men standing from all of the teams that went against each other for the top slot. Both men are equally qualified but only one can move on. Whoever wins this bout will have to face some galactic beings in order to receive the gems but they will have the power gem to begin with. Will the winner be able to reign supreme or will they fail...you will have to decide.

BIO:
Thor
"Now you face the Mightiest Avenger of all! "
KEY POINTS: Superhuman strength and stamina; superhumanly dense tissue; Self Sustenance: capable of surviving in the vacuum of space unaided and does not need air, food, water, or sleep; Superhuman speed; regenerative healing factor; Rune magic: acquired knowledge and use of the Runes which grants him an infinite supply of mystical power and spells in addition to his other powers; Odin Force: enables him to tap into the practically infinite resources of cosmic and mystical energies, enhancing all of his abilities in turn; Master combatant: one of the most skilled fighters to ever walk the Marvel Universe; Master tactician;

BIO:
Superman
"Maybe you don't know me so well after all. I never give up!"
KEY POINTS: Kryptonian Physiology: Superman's cellular structure is more dense, resilient and biologically more effective than human tissue; Superhuman strength; Invulnerability; Superhuman abilities; almost instantaneous healing; Master combatant: been trained by Wildcat and Mongul in the fighting arts; has also fought and learned from Wonder Woman as well as learned more advanced martial arts techniques from Batman;

After a long slugfest between both men, Thor officially takes it by the use of magic. Both combatants came out swinging with brute force, but neither heroes were getting nowhere. Mjolnir may be mighty, but Superman is the man of steel and takes the hammer strikes because he refuses to give up. Eventually, Thor figures out one of Kal-el's weaknesses is magic and starts to use it against him. From then on, he is able to deliver massive blows to the kryptonian and knocking him out cold. Thor receives the power gem (attached to the Infinity Gauntlet) and is now in for the fight to save the universe and quest for the Infinity Gems. In the coming days, Thor will be facing some of the toughest opponents in both Universe's to retrieve the Infinity Gems and hopefully be victorious. If he's not, the champion who defeats him will go on his own quest, either to pick up the slack or to rule the Universe...you will decide!

Thor could just place his hammer on superman and then punch him until he's out cold.

thor = god

superman = alien

gods should win 99.9% of the time.

On top of being a god, Thor can use magic against Supes (which of course is one his weaknesses). With that ability and his strength, I don't think has much of a chance, but you never know...

as much as I hate to admit it, Thor takes this one. God or not, magic has always been a pain in the ass for Supes. Now a fight between Superman and The Sentry would have been most epic.

@ bgharcourt - The only reason I didn't put Sentry in this is because he's dead. I'm trying to stay away from the dead heroes and stay on continuity. But if he should come back later down the line, my future polls will involve him more than likely.

Like Ive said before, the ONLY advantage Supes has against Thor is speed, thats it.
