So many people (including me) would think that the winner depends on where the battle takes place. If on supes home turf with HIS yellow sun rays, then the man of steel wins,if on Asgardian soil, god of thunder wins. But what if it took place in a nuetral dimension, that gave them both equal ability access and restrictions? Plus both are equally pissed at each other for some reason? Well let me give y'all some stats and you guys comment your answers on who you think would win.

stats:

Name:Thor Odinson
Powers:Superhuman strength, speed, agility, endurance, and longevity.

Healing factor Abilities via his magical and enchanted hammer Mjolnir
Flight,Energy absorption and projection Weather manipulation, Dimensional transportation
Electric manipulation also via Mjolnir.
He's a master military leader and combatant. Im using the most effective and wise Thor version that exsists and still maintains THESE powers no more no less

vs.

Name:Superman
Powers:Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, invulnerability, freezing breath, super hearing, multiple extrasensory and vision powers, longevity, flight, intelligence, and regeneration via yellow sun.He also when away from the sun he still retains these abilitiesbecuase of how he metabolizes the sun rays. He's a great leader and combat expert from years of experience doing many feats for the DCU.The most powerfull version of supes is the one in use as long at it also is relavent to these stats.

so comment your answer who wins? please comment.

I believe that Thor would win with his magic plus people think that superman can pick his hammer up but that's wrong because hes weak against magic but im all the way for Thor

I think it's 50-50.All fights depend on the scenerio. While Supes is vulnerable to magic it doen't mean an instant KO just that he would feel the pain.Simular to taking a punch from Zod or Bizarro.Thor like wise is a highly capable fighter, but has lost to mortals in the past.If you put these two in a fight 5 times 2/5 othe the time either one would win and the 1/5 is a draw.

Thor. Mostly because supes is vulnerable to magic which would make him weak to attacks from mjolnir. Without the hammer I think its a draw.

@ironkidd actually your right and wrong there was a cross over event years ago where JL met Avengersand in the series superman finds out HE IS WORTHY to pick up thor's hammer. So Magic weakness or not he can pick it up actually. I personelly think itd be supes.

As I've said before, the only advantage Supes has on Thor is speed, that's it. Otherwise, they're roughly equaled or Thor has the advantage.

They are both probably physically equal in strength. I think mjolnir's magic wins it for Thor though. Supes can't take magic.
GuardianDevil
GuardianDevil - 1/24/2013, 12:03 AM
I give it to Thor, they're strength levels are equal...Superman has speed but Thor's hammer can move 3x the speed of light, and he's taken out Quicksilver who is supposed to be as fast as Flash...and Silver Surfer who's speed is insanely high. At the end of the day, Supes is completely defenseless against magic. I mean Wonder Woman could cut him with a magic sword, so just imagine what a blast of Thor's magic lightning would do...a few hits from a magic hammer would end the round for Superman.

@Angelus
Dude, the Marvel/DC crossover outcomes were decided off the popularity of the character..so OF COURSE Superman would win.

@scneider625

When did superman beat the hulk? I'd like to see this.
Also, even if superman beat the hulk (who, beat Thor according to you), that doesn't mean superman can beat thor. Thor has magic, which superman is weak against.

In some comics, Thor has even been depicted of blowing up entire planets with a punch.

He's a god.
Krios
Krios - 3/1/2013, 2:01 PM
Also, Thor can go into berserker mode, increasing his strength and speed ten-fold. He also has senses that can detect things faster than light.

Superman has no chance.

ok... here we go again with this nonsense.

Thor cannot beat Superman... he has already lost. Supes caught his hammer with his left and and knocked him into a coma with his right. look it up before you ramble on like a bunch of fools.

on a side note last time i checked Superman wasn't bothered by things like lava and space which means he would own goku while were at it.

superman held a black hole in his hand.... i love Marvel fanboys

First of I would like to say everyone is entitled to their own opinion but there also some facts
Fact#1 To those who don't believe it Superman has beaten the HULK not once, not twice, but three different times. 3/4 of these battles were all won by Superman alone one of them was one because of fan votes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_vs._Marvel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGGEm0EJkms
Fact#2 Superman is technically a demi God however some of his greatest feats were because of the Sun (this includes moving planets, blackholes, surviving incredible explosions such as upclose supernovas and star explosions) Some which surpass the anime hero Goku by a large scale. Which when stats are put together show Superman is infact stronger when they fight in their prime
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyl97TG8jbA
Now that those two arguments are over. Time to move on to the actual topic at hand
Fact#3 Thor is powerful, an incredible leader, he has an incredible amount of power and abilities including that of his hammer.
Fact#4 Superman is vulnerable to magic(not his weakness) which means it hurts him more than an actual punch from a monster or whatever. This doesn't actually mean the end for him but it is a problem and deciding factor in battle.
Fact#5 While I believe magic is one of the keen ways to hurt Superman, Thor wouldn't be the first magical being Superman has encountered there a wide range which superman has faced and defeated. One of the greatest is in fact Captain Marvel a superhero bent on mystical power.
Fact#6 Turf does give either hero an advantage, however superman's and Thor's strength is far from equal. It is true that Thor is a god. He does carry a keen weakness his own hammer. "When Mjolnir was damaged, Doctor Strange bound Thor's soul into Mjolnir, meaning that if the hammer were to be broken again, Thor may also die" I understand it is one of the finest weapons and nearly unstoppable things in the universe. However if it was damaged once I am sure Sups(DC's equivelant of GOD) can take a crack at it.
Fact#7 This isn't also the first time either of these characters have dealt 'gods" Thor has faced his own godly brother Loki and Superman has had his battles both in Apocalypse against the god Darkseid but also a few gods from Apocalypse's enemy planet New Genesis
Fact#8 It is true that Thor has keen senses which are in fact in par if not surpass the speed of light, however Superman reached speeds so high that he has created not only a wormhole or new matrix in reality with just his static electricity same goes for Flash from DC comics.
Fact#9 For all Marvel and DC fans who hate Superman because he is too damn powerful or because he is such a goodygoodie. Superman is made this way because he is supposed to be the inspiration that every hero wants to become even the ones with dark pasts who want to better themselves.
So in my personal opinion yes Superman would win and no it would not be an easy fight however if Superman is to get the hammer away from Thor the fight will be over. Easy as that and before all you trolls or crazy rapid fanboys react in a negative manner this is just my personal opinion. DC & Marvel will never pit their heroes against one another each hero has their own amazing strengths and weakness.
Oh Extra fact

superman defeated hulk due to fan vote. even if superman uses is speed on hulk it, doesn't matter because hulk is very durable, he has stamina, and hulk is also very fast, he has reflexes too and he hit fast. if hulk and superman should battle i believe hulk will beat superman. if doomsday, and Solomon Grundy have defeated sups then why cant hulk defeat superman? the angrier he gets the faster he becomes. on the other hand, Thor can detect somebody moving faster than light. Thor has defeated silver surfer who is faster than superman in my opinion. i will give this to Thor because superman is vulnerable to magic. god blast will kill superman, anti force will kill superman period.
shoruken
shoruken - 3/14/2013, 11:37 AM
superman can never stop Thor's hammer. even with superman raw strength he cant. the villains Thor fight on a daily basis will destroy superman. Thor has gone one on one with the celestials before, he defeated mangog before who is way stronger than thor. he fought and defeated galactus. superman will loose
HeliosNova
HeliosNova - 3/16/2013, 2:21 AM
Not all battles with Hulk were fan votes just one. Secondly if I am assuming correct you are picking the episode from Justice League Unlimited where Superman and other members fight Solomon Grundy when he was infused with magical power meaning he was impervious to any physical damage. Hawkgirl took him down with her mystical mace. Was an ancient Kryptonian before they looked like humans. So your really putting two great Kryptonian powers against one another. Sometimes tenacity(hulk) doesn't win a battle. As for Thor both him and Superman have faced each other and it always ends up the same Thor is an incredibly powerful person in his own world or dimension. In this case I am saying Marvel Universe character like the Avengers are more Human/one God. As for DC characters they are more Alien or godlike creatures. If you read the post it of the picture I put Superman's and Thor's strength are not in the same par. I am giving this to Superman. Sometimes you guys forget who the guy really is just because he hasn't had a good movie in awhile.

Thor wins. Sure, Supes has Thor on speed, I do believe Mjolnir's magic would be the deciding factor. Superman doesn't want to see the 'God Blast' coming at him.
scyllaya
scyllaya - 5/23/2013, 1:13 AM
My vote is for Thor. Superman's vulnerability to magic gives Thor a great advantage, while most of Superman's powers would be something Thor can easily dodge or take on without serious damage.

Yes, Superman is faster, but what is he going to do with it? I think Thor would still be able to dodge if Superman gets close, or grab his cape or something as he speeds by.

Thor also has thousands of years (centuries in movie-verse) of battle experience, so I doubt Superman could "outsmart" him. Thor constantly acts dumber than he is, so his intelligence is always underestimated.

Thor wins, I am a fan of Marvel and DC, I research things before I talk about them and Thor would win, even without Mjolnir.
Reasons: Thor ALWAYS holds back against mortal, He beat Hulk and Thing at the same time with 1 arm, 1 eye in unarmed combat, can see objects moving faster than light speed.

SuperMAN is very strong, fast, and durable, but Thor is a GOD.
BobbyDrake85
BobbyDrake85 - 6/25/2013, 12:33 PM
SuperMan may be more physically stronger then Thor but Thor is more POWERFUL then superman.Thor is born warrior, fighting is what he does so superman wont match him in skills. Also Superman is vulnerable to magic and Thor is a Mythical God so theres another advantage for the Odinson. Two more things I think people overlook, one being Thors ability to transport to other dimension and 2 his ability to absorb energy with his hammer. If Thor knows Superman get his power from the sun he can easily transport them into another realm and over time superman energy will diminish while thor can fight months on end without rest. That being said Thor also could absorb all the solar energy within superman and just drop him.
