First off... Does anyone else think its kind of strange that the Turtles are being made into a CGI cartoon on Nickelodeon? And that Jason Biggs is playing the beloved Leonardo. Really? I mean, don't get me wrong, he was great in Saving Silverman and My Best Friend's Girl, but I honestly cant see the guy who bangs the pie trying to be the greatest reptilian leader of our childhood.
Not to mention they also got Sean Astin as the trash talking, fist throwing turtle, Raphael. Sean Astin is great but not at all intimidating. He is an amazing actor but as far as I'm concerned they cast the WRONG 'GOONIE'!
Now with that said... The thought of a new live action TMNT film makes me extremely stoked but a little nervous as well.
Here is my own list of actors and actresses I think would fit the role of the main character list.
Leonardo: Jason Lee
Jason Lee is pretty incredible. He's Brodie Bruce for God sake.
Raphael: T.J. Miller
Mr. Miller is usually a comedic actor but I feel with his iconic voice tone he could really portray the rough and gruff hot-headed turtle.
Donatello: Corey Feldman
Just keeping it classic. Corey was perfect... "Nuff Said!"
Michelangelo: Sean Penn
If for any reason Sean Penn would be down for a little voice acting, Spicoli is Michelangelo... And we all know Mickey is a cannabis connoisseur.
Master Splinter: Mako
Being a huge Kung Fu movie lover, I loved that Mako was cast as our favorite ninja rodent in the 2007 TMNT cartoon movie. Wouldn't have it any other way...dead or alive.
April O'Neil: Cobie Smulders
Does anyone else see a resemblance? After watching How I Met Your Mother I really think she has the attitude to hold her own.
Casey Jones: Glenn Danzig
I don't think I need explain this one...and those of you who don't know who Danzig is please Google him.
Oroku saki/Shredder: Ken Watanabe
After watching The Last Samurai and seeing him as Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins, I really think that Ken Watanabe is a natural choice
