"Life is like a locomotion... if you’re not moving, you’re not living. But there comes a time when you’ve got to stop running away from things… and you’ve got to start running towards something, you’ve got to forge ahead. Keep moving. Even if your path isn’t lit… trust that you’ll find your way."

THE PLOT

One afternoon coming home from school a young boy named Barry Allen finds his mother brutally murdered, and his father being taken away for the crime. Years go by and Barry now works as a forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department. With a reputation for being very slow, deliberate, and frequently late Barry is not the most popular guy. One night, as he is preparing to leave work, a lightning bolt shatters a case full of chemicals and spills them all over Allen. As a result, Barry finds that he has super speed. Deciding to use his powers to fight crime and to help humanity, Barry designs a special costume and calls himself The Flash. Its been a year since Barry has become The Flash and during that time he has faced a rogues gallery of super villains, but after an accident where Barry is forced to go faster than he has before he discover the Speed Force. As he draws deeper into the Speed Force, enhancing his mental abilities while still trying to get a full grasp on his own powers, which he doesn't yet exert total control over. He meets Dr. Darwin Elias who explains to him that every time the Flash uses the Speed Force to approach the speed of light, dangerous time rifts are created. Meanwhile Captain Cold, Heatwave, The Pied Piper, Mirror Master, and Weather Wizard. Jealous of Flash's power decide to get even. They undergo a procedure at an unknown facility that would merge them with their weapons, giving them superpowers. The procedure goes awry and explodes. Cold's s daughter Lisa, who was also at the facility was caught in the explosion. The six were now given superpowers, but each in a twisted manner. All of them now with abilities decided to team up and get rid of the Flash once and for all. Now the Flash must take on a group of villains who are now stronger and smarter than they were before and also deal with himself being more and more drawn to the speed force.

THE DIRECTOR

Matthew Vaughn is currently one of my favorite directors in Hollywood right now. Hes a tremendous story teller and a very talented directer with a great visionary eye for drama and action. With a lot of great movies recently under his belt including X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass. I just think hes the perfect director to bring the Flash to the big screen. I think Layer Cake one of his most over looked movies is truly a amazing film that doesn't get enough credit. His work and experience with superhero movies should help out tremendously with the production of this film.

Credits : X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass, Layer Cake, Stardust

THE WRITING

I thought one of the many problems with Green Lantern was it just had too many writers for its own good. It just kinda threw the movie out of sync and gave it a horrible pace and a inconsistent tone. All three of these men are amazing screen writers. I picked James Vanderbilt because hes written The Amazing Spider-Man, Zodiac, The Rundown , and the upcoming RoboCop all really good films. He knows how to write fun summer blockbusters with real attention to story. Geoff Johns will act as a consultant and co- writer on the film giving his experience for writing the actual comic books he will be a welcomed addition. He will also make sure things don't go to far off the source material. As i listed above i think Matthew Vaughn is a tremendous screenwriter who's experience in Kick-Ass and X-men should only help the film.

SPECIAL EFFECTS

A movie about the Flash is gonna have a lot of special effects and they should be taken quite seriously. I think when the Flash is running on the big screen it should be one the coolest thing ever to be seen. Using the shroud of electricity should only make things even more cooler. His blur affect should obviously be a red and gold with a remnants of electricity. I would also take a good hard look at the spin cycles from Tron Legacy for inspiration on what they should aim for.

THE MUSIC

Cliff Martinez : Another problem with Green Lantern was it's soundtrack it just totally sucked. For a movie like this it would be nice to have a original score that's is great and memorable. You should be able to go home humming its tune non stop. After watching Drive I had to download the whole movie soundtrack immediately. It was just an amazing and very unique soundtrack. Cliff Martinez is a former member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He's a fantastic composer who just understands how important it is to have a good score for a film of this magnitude.

Credits : Pump Up the Volume, Traffic, Narc, Wonderland, The Lincoln Lawyer, Drive, Contagion

COSTUME

The Flash has a real iconic red and gold suit that has remained essentially the same for over 60 years. His suit is up there with Superman and Batman and still remains as one the most recognizable costumes even today, so i wouldn't change any of the classic colors schemes. I'm definitely like if it ain't broke don't fix it, but i would maybe make it a little darker and not so bright. I would also based it on the new 52 rather than the previous ones. I will also add the electric seams i find them a very welcomed addition to his suit. It makes him look more modern and current it would also translate a lot better on to the big screen.

THE CAST

The Flash/Ryan Gosling

Character Bio : Barry Allen is the fastest man alive known as The Flash. In his secret identity he is a police officer working in Central City as a forensics specialist. Barry's running generates the Speed Force, an enigmatic source of energy that all other speedsters tap into throughout time. There is an ever-present danger that as fast as he runs, he might lose himself as he approaches speeds closer to light

Ryan Gosling : (Age: 32/Height: 6' 1") The guy is a fan favorite to play every character that has ever existed in the history of comics. He's a fantastic actor who was amazing in The Ides of March and hilarious as hell in Crazy, Stupid, Love, but for me the movie the put him over the top was Drive a really fantastic film that's need to be seen by everyone. He has tremendous range and depth as an actor. That's why he would make a really good Barry Allen. He looks the part and has the ability to bring out Barry's simple Midwestern charm. Plus a movie like this you need a big actor who can draw a huge audience and to reach all the important demographics.

Credits : Drive, The Ides of March, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Half Nelson, The Notebook

OR

The Flash/Wilson Bethal

Wilson Bethal : (Age: 28/Height: 6' 0") If they decided to go the unknown route my pick would be this guy. I think he has the right physique and charm Barry possesses. Hasn't really been in any movies, but currently stars in Hart of Dixie.

Patty Spivot/Imogen Poots

Character Bio : Patty Spivot is a part-time lab assistant to police scientist Barry Allen in Central City. Patty harbors strong romantic feelings towards Barry, and also believes that the Flash is a hindrance to the police and Central City.

Imogen Poots : (Age:23/Height: 5' 4") She might be a little too young for this role, but other than that I think shes perfect for this movie. I believe she's a talented and beautiful actress with lots of potential and who was amazing in Fright Night and 28 Weeks Later. She would only serve as the love interest for the first movie.

Nora Allen/Jennifer Connelly

Character Bio : Nora Thompson is the wife of Henry Allen and mother to Barry Allen. She was brutally murdered and her husband was convicted of the crime.

Jennifer Connelly : (Age: 42/Height: 5' 7") This choice really came out of nowhere, but now that i think of it im pretty sure i made the right choice on this one. Jennifer Connelly is a very talented oscar winning actress who would be perfect for the role of Nora. She would only have a small role in the begging of the film.

Henry Allen/Aaron Eckhart

Character Bio : Henry Allen was the husband of Nora Allen and father of Barry Allen. When Barry Allen was a child, Nora was murdered and Henry was convicted of the crime. This incident drove his son to become a policeman, in hope of finding the real killer. Henry died in prison a year or two before his son became the Flash.

Aaron Eckhart : (Age: 44/Height: 6' 0") Great supporting actor who gave an amazing performance in The Dark Knight as Two-Face and has the acting ability to bring his character to life on the big screen. His relationship with Barry will be a strained one, but also very crucial to the film and setting Barry's life in motion to become a cop.

Iris West/Anna Kendrick

Character Bio : She is a reporter for Picture News and friends with Barry due to their respective jobs. It is hinted that Iris has a romantic attraction to Barry. She's a big fan of the Scarlett Speedster and one of his few supporters in Central City. Would wait for the sequel before her and Barry hook up.

Anna Kendrick : (Age: 27/Height: 5' 0") She's a very beautiful and very talented actress. I think she has the acting chops to pull off Iris. A up in comer who's been in a lot of great movies these past couple of years. She was hilarious in Pitch Perfect and quite amazing in 50/50 and Up in the Air, and probably the only Twilight actor with a decent future.

Manuel Lago/Oscar Isaac

Character Bio : Manuel Lago is an old and close friend of Barry Allen. They both knew each other since before Barry became the Flash. Manuel always getting in trouble, bringing Barry along for the ride. This usually ends with Manuel and Barry running from whoever they angered.

Oscar Isaac : (Age: 33/Height: 6' 0") Has worked with Ryan Gosling before in Drive. He's a great actor that has lots of range and great potential. In the film he would be Barry's best friend, but is set up to be a villain in future installments.

D.R Darwin Elias/Billy Crudup

Character Bio : Dr Darwin Elias is a world famous scientist and billionaire who soon becomes a secret allies to The Flash. He helps Barry understand his powers and the true potential of his abilities.

Billy Crudup : (Age: 44/Height: 5' 9") Great actor very underrated has been in Watchman, Almost Famous, and Big Fish. When i thought about who should play him he was the first one to come to mind. I think his role in Watchman was amazing and def deserves more props.

Darryl Frye/Charles Dance

Character Bio : Darryl Frye is the captain of the Central City Police Department and Barry's boss. Took in Barry after his mom's murder and kinda became a father figure to the boy.

Charles Dance : (Age: 66/Height: 6' 3") Wanted to pick someone who was original. Charles Dance is a great actor obviously well known for his role as Lord Tywin Lannister on Game of Thrones. He's a great character actor with tremendous range and likability who i think will bring his own unique flavor to the character.

James Forrest/Forrest Whitaker

Character Bio : James Forrest is a DNA specialist and colleague of Barry Allen's at the Central City Police Department. He's a very smart and funny dude liked by everyone at the office. He's also very good friends with Barry.

Forrest Whitaker : (Age: 51/Height: 6' 2")Awesome actor who truly doesn't get enough credit. He's won a oscar and multiple other awards. He's probably best know for his role in Platoon and The Last King of Scotland. I just thought Whitaker was just suited for the role.

David Singh/Gerard Butler

Character Bio : David Singh was the director of the crime lab at the Central City Police Department. When he took over, the lab began to emphasize quantity of cases solved over quality, which resulted in the alienation of some longtime scientists, such as Patty Spivot.

Gerard Butler : (Age: 43/Height: 6' 2") Gerard Butler is a decent actor who's been a fan favorite in a lot of other castings around here. I just thought it would be cool little role for Gerard Butler plus hes definitely a dead ringer for the comic character.

Captain Cold/John Slattery

Character Bio : Captain Cold is one of the deadliest enemies of the Flash. Is the leader of the Rogues Gallery, a team of costumed super-villains who fight against the Flash. The super-villain Golden Glider is his daughter. Captain Cold has undergone experiments that have given him cryokinesis, including the ability to slow down the molecules around him, creating a field of inertia that reduces the Flash's speed to human level, allowing Captain Cold to touch him and effortlessly beat him

John Slattery : (Age: 50/Height: 5' 10")John Slattery is on one of the best TV shows in Mad Men. He's probably more perfect for Max Mercury, but i think his take on Captain Cold could be very interesting. The guy is a terrific actor who i think would be perfect as a villain.

Golden Glider/Amanda Seyfried

Character Bio : Dying of a brain tumor she survives after the tumor is removed, but expresses shame over her brother's actions. After the experiment, she mysteriously appears in South America, now going by the name "Glider".

Amanda Seyfried : (Age: 27/Height: 5' 3")A very beautiful and talented upcoming actress who has already starred in a couple of big budget films. Was amazing in Big Love and really funny in Mean Girls. I think she would be perfect for this role.

Weather Wizard/Gael Garcia Bernal

Character Bio : Marco Mardon he and his brother, Claudio, are Latino and the heads of a Mafia family. After their father's death Marco runs away, eventually becoming the Weather Wizard, but is called back after Claude's murder. Weather Wizard has become a more powerful threat and a stronger villain to The Flash. Able to control the weather with his emotions now.

Gael Garcia Bernal : (Age: 34/Height: 5' 6") Not really a well know actor stateside probably best known for playing a young Che Guevara in The Motorcycle Diaries, and if you haven't seen it i highly recommend you do. He's a terrific actor who looks the part, simple as that.

Heat Wave/Bruce Willis

Character Bio : Heat Wave is a pyromaniac super-villain and enemy to the Flash, a founding member of the Rogues. His handheld flamethrower produces enough heat to melt the Flash's boots. After the experiment Heat Wave himself is now able to shoot fire from his own chest.

Bruce Willis : (Age: 57/Height: 6' 0")In one word Bruce Willis is just awesome so i casted him as Heat Wave no pun intended so he can make the character hot. In my opinion the character is a B villain so casting Willis is a smart move. Great actor whose proven to be quite likable and bankable by audiences.

Mirror Master/Guy Pearce

Character Bio : A criminal who utilizes mirror related weapons such as a ray gun that can blast out images of himself and laser, and uses a bunch o mirrors to transport himself through different parts. One of the Flash's most famous foes.

Guy Pearce : (Age: 45/Height: 5' 11") He probably wouldn't do a movie like this, but i chose him anyways because the guy is an incredible actor. Probably best known for his work on Christopher Nolan's Memento.

The Pied Piper/Neil Patrick Harris

Character Bio : Was born deaf, but was eventually cured. He became obsessed with sound experimenting with sonic technology, eventually invented a technique of hypnotism through music, and a way to cause deadly vibrations.

Neil Patrick Harris : (Age: 39/Height: 6' 1") I chose Harris because the guy is such a great performer. I also chose him as a nod to his involvement with prior Flash projects.

I don't get the love for Matthew Vaughn or Ryan Gosling. Vaughn is a crap director, and Gosling is a complete block of wood actor! I just don't get it. Dude is no better than Channing Tatum IMO.

Aside from the overall influence of the New 52 on all this; This is REALLY good stuff! The Rogues are PERFECT! Choices I wouldn't have necessarily thought of in a million years, but perfect!

Great cast! I agree with almost all your choices. I'm planning to cast Ryan Gosling as Green Arrow in my Young Justice cast, but if he did cast as Barry I would have no problem at all. He's one of my top choices!!

Very nice. May I suggest Simon Baker for your Henry Allen though. I don't like seeing actors who have been in a comic book movie be recasted.
