Lets all have a little talk about the T-DOG syndrome. What is the T-DOG syndrome? Its when an writer, producer, director, Ect. add an person of minority just to make the cast/characters more 'diverse' but in the end the character is either a fail as an character, just full of negative stereotypes, and/or just plain not necessary.

Take T-DOG from the walking dead, for he is a great example. First of all his name is 'T-DOG'. That right there offends me. I mean, im african american and ive never, and i mean never known somone who actually went by the name T-DOG! Its just stereotypical. Becuase he's black, he needs an street name that goes along with it. And thats not the end of it, there's also an failed attempt at making him the 'tuff guy with a solf heart'. Thats an very un-original idea, and its really unrealistic. 'T-DOG' gets beaten to a pulp by a racist man in the begining of the of eppisode two, but by the end of that eppisode, he wants to rescue him. Why!? I dont know, it just makes me mad.

The T-DOG Syndrome doesnt only aply to black people. It can reply to any minority. And it doesn't aply to every time a minority member is added to an cast. Yes the T-Dog syndrome was aplied to the JLA and JLA-UNLIMITED, but it wasn't a fail. We actually got a good character from it. But some times we just dont need it. I for one hope that the new Aqual lad isn't an example, just to add diversity to the aqua-family...

Please dont get me wrong, im not saying I dont like the Walking Dead TV show, I just had to get that off my chest......

PLEASE COMMENT...
