When Captain America's ears show in promo art, toys and other items, people wonder why they're covered in the movie. Why? Because they're ear covers on each side. If you look closely on promo art and movie stills, you'll see the difference. One has a blue cover, the other has nothing.

I hope whoever didn't know knows why now

Captain America 2 comes to theaters April 4, 2014!

A little more content would help this article from being deemed: "pointless". Just saying.... You know, a picture of the topic would suffice. And thanks for sharing (I guess).

Probably could have saved that bit of info for an Avengers related comment section.

reboot this article!

(grammar police comment: your 2nd 'they're' is not used correctly. it should be 'there are'. I'd let you off the hook, but since there is not much content, I couldn't let it slide.)

at least you are contributing!

It's because the helmet design was changed last minute, even after shooting started. If you look closely in the film you'll see that when Cap first sees his outfit the ears are uncovered.

Because it was so last minute, all the promo art was already approved, and they didn't bother to change anything.

wait... so you're telling me, that the ear coverings... cover his ears?

Hopefully in upcoming Cap and Avengers movie sequels his costume will be modified and tweaked to the point one day we'll get a cowl/helmet with exposed ears.

@MilitaryStormtrooper
You can still edit your article.
Here's the html for images:
*Type img src= , only with a < in front
*Insert quotations ""
*Past your image url between the ""
*Finish off with a img , only instead, put a "/" in front, and close it off with a ">"
Done!
Try it, you'll like it!

Wow, thanks Captain Onvious. I dont think anyone would have put that piece of that together. In the promo art he isnt wearing ear covers, but in the movie he is. Brliant. I dont think anyone noticed that. Thanks for letting us all in on the secret.

Yea it was a very last minute design change... if you watch the movie you will notice that you never actually see Captain America take off or put on his head gear... they always cut away.

the standard hoody part (with ear holes) hangs down his back during some scenes and when goes to put it on he magically has the helmet part to hand to cover his ears.

@WesleyGibson
Yeah for some reason it wasn't displaying the code when I typed it incomplete, so I had to break it down even further.

The easiest way to post images is to upload the image to your fansite picture gallery and copy the html embed code.

Or use HTML tags < > with the image url
