The folks over at DC have recently released their slate of upcoming films. Among those films, people seem to be very excited for the Suicide Squad movie and after recently watching Assault on Arkham I have to tell you I am as well. Let the fancast begin...

Colin Farrell as Floyd Lawton/Deadshot
Deadshot is one of the world's finest assassins, well-known for his expert shot and near perfect track record. He's only missed once while trying to shoot Batman. His main nemesis is Batman and has been a core member of both the Suicide Squad and the Secret Six. Deadshot is the self-appointed leader of the Suicide Squad in the film incarnation and wants to have a spectacular death.

Reason for Casting: Farrell is an amazning actor and is ready to be a leading man in the most popular movie genre right now, comic book films. Farrell has supreme charisma and dramatic skills so he wouldn't be a second guess if he were to be cast as Deadshot. Seven Psychopaths, in which he starred in, ius a great example of a film to convince those who doubt the choice of Farrell. Note: Seven Psychopaths also included another actor in this fancast.

Kirsten Dunst as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost
In the New 52, Killer Frost is a woman by the name of Dr. Caitlin Snow. Originally a S.T.A.R. Labs research scientist in the Arctic, she gained her powers when H.I.V.E tried to kill her inside a thermodynamic engine. She seemingly has a history with the supervillain Mr. Freeze that is never elaborated upon.

Reason for Casting: You may not know it from the Raimi Spider Man trilogy but Kirsten Dunst is actually a really good actress. If you don't believe me then check out Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or Little Women. I have no doubt Dunst could play an amazing Killer Frost even though she was miscast in her other CBM role. I have yet to see Dunst be a somewhat evil character and would love to see if she can make that transition.

Sam Rockwell as Nanaue/King Shark
(ComicVine states) Nanaue is a humanoid shark who originally terrorized Hawaii, but now operates as a member of the Suicide Squad. Contrary to popular belief, King Shark is indeed a shark. Despite this, I feel the more humanoid version as seen in Assault on Arkham is the better fit for the character.

Reason for Casting: Rockwell is generally considered one of the most overlooked actors of this generation and people demand him for bigger roles time and time again. I'll be the first to say Rockwell is amazing and I think the same so being the gargantuan and cannabalistic memeber of the Suicide Squad seems to be the best choice for him as this character may be the breakout star similar to Groot in GOTG.

Margot Robbie as Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn
Harleen Quinzel, the Arkham psychiatrist who fell in love with the Joker. A "mad love" would lead her to a life of crime as Harley Quinn, frequent accomplice, and would-be-girlfriend of the Clown Prince of Crime. In The New 52, she is a member of the Suicide Squad.

Reason for Casting: Margot Robbie seems to be a very dedicated up and coming actress who will play the role you tell her to play with no questions asked. This is why I could definitely see her as Harley Quinn especially in a movie in which she has no ties to the Joker (yet) and she's just a psychotic criminal hellbent on destruction and mayhem. Robbie seems to do well with very soecific roles and she's not hard on the eyes either.

Casey Affleck as Edward Nygma/The Riddler
Edward Nigma is a villain obsessed with riddles, puzzles, and brain teasers, who took the alias of the Riddler to commit crimes. Riddler frequently tries to outsmart Gotham's hero Batman, but is always defeated by the Dark Knight. After spending some time 'reformed' working as a Private Investigator in Gotham, he has returned to his old villainous ways.

Reason for Casting: Casey is a great actor in his own right but usually gets overshadowed in the fame department by his brother, Batfleck himself. Casey has been in some excellent films like Good Will Hunting and Gone Baby Gone. He'll be no stranger to starring alongside heavyweight actors either as he shared the screen with Brad Pitt in The Assination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford.

Eddie Redmayne as George Harkness/Captain Boomerang
A intergral member of the Suicide Squad, Harkness vies for the leadership role by butting heads frequently with his teammate Deadshot. With superb agility and impeccable aim, he uses his boomerangs to take out his enemies.

Reason for Casting: Redmayne has been in a few good films in which he was given good performances such as My Week with Marilyn and The Thoey of Everything, and also starring alongside Hugh Jackman in Les Misérables. Redmayne could portray the sometimes laughed at villain and give him some credibility.

Thandie Newton as Amanda Waller
Amanda "The Wall" Waller has run the covert team Suicide Squad with an iron fist and has a formidable personality. Her hatred for superheroes and villains has lead her to take numerous positions in various governmental organizations to root out the problem.

Reason for Casting: The people who feel like "fat" Amanda Waller is a must (I think) are truly missing out on what makes the character as great as she is. Waller has a hatred for superheroes and supervillains in general and she has the ability to strike the fear into someone with the physicality of King Shark and someone with the mental instability of Harley Quinn and make them do her bidding. That's what makes Amanda Waller as great a character as she is and if you saw Chronicles of Riddick then you know Thandie Newton was (basically) Amanda Waller in the film and she could do the job like no one else.

Cameron Bright as Roy Harper
Green Arrow's first sidekick, Roy Harper has grown to become one of the most accomplished marksmen in the DC Universe. After being abandoned by his mentor, Roy, now going by the name Arsenal, joined the Suicide Squad with Red Hood and Deadshot.

Reason for Casting: Cameron's role as Roy Harper will be a big deal regarding the blurred lines of where the DCCU stands. This being because, Roy Harper is a known hero, he would be in Arkham due to some missteps in his life, possibly coming off his infamous addiction like in the comics, Roy joins the Suicide Squad and helps them despite not knowing their intentions. Bright has had roles in the films Juno and Thank You For Smoking.

Camoes and Set-Ups for Future Films

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jason Todd/Red Hood
Jason Todd was the second Robin, brutally murdered by the Joker. Resurrected, Jason turned against his mentor for not avenging his death. Now on a path to redemption, Jason uses the skills Batman taught him as an anti-hero using the Joker's former identity: The Red Hood. He is often considered an estranged member of the Bat Family and Batman's greatest failure.

Reason for Casting: If the rumors are true about Carrie Kelley being in BvS then that could leave a time gap long enough to have Red Hood aka Jason Todd who was the second Robin. JGL is a great actor that should be cast in a CBM sooner rather than later and considering the Squad will be inside the Arkham Asylum this leaves room open for camoes and set-ups for future films and if I could have it my way I would use Red Hood as the set-up for the future Batman solo movie. Also, this could kind-of be a nod to Nolan's trilogy by having JGL as a version of Robin. I honestly don't know if that would be a nod or not figure it out.

Blake Lively as Pamela Isley/Posion Ivy
A botanical biochemist, Pamela Isley is a fervent eco-terrorist out to save the world's plant life by any means necessary. She often finds herself at odds with Batman, though they have, on occasion, fought on the same side. Pre-New 52 she had a long friendship with Harley Quinn and, in fact, gave her meta-human abilities. Ivy, Harley, and Catwoman later teamed up as the Gotham City Sirens. Post-New 52, she was a member of the Birds of Prey for a time before betraying them to further her cause.

Reason for Casting: Lively already has some experience working with Affleck (see: The Town) and her acting has really improved and she has shown she can be a good actor wit hsome good direction at hand. This is why I would personally roll the dice and give her the role of Gotham's resident plant-lover Posion Ivy.

Gene Hackman as Commisioner James Gordon
James Gordon was one of Batman's first supporters, helping him fight against crime and corruption. Rising to the rank of Commissioner in the Gotham City Police Department, he remains one of Batman's greatest allies.

Reason for Casting: Consiodering our Batman will be older it would make sense to have an older James Gordon that's not Ted Levine or Bryan Cranston. Gene Hackman aka The OG Lex Luthor is a brilliant actor and no one is going to question that with his legnthy filmography. Hackman and Affleck interacting would definitely be something to see.

Jude Law as Mayor Hamilton Hill
In the comics Hamilton Hill is the corrupt mayor of Gotham City who works for Rupert Thorne.

Reason for Casting: Jude Law has been a consistent actor with great films under his belt such as Hugo, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. I feel as if Law could definitely give more dimension and attention to the underrated character/villain of Mayor Hamilton Hill.

I thought Hackman retired from acting?

- Colin Farrell is always good. Definitely a good Deadshot choice!
- Kirsten Dunst once said she would like to play a serial killer. Here's your chance, hon!
- I sincerely hope Margot Robbie doesn't get the role of Harley Quinn. I want to see the character's horror-comedy persona easily translated, so to me, I'd go with either Anna Camp or Candice Accolla.

- Funny enough, Casey Affleck appeared as the Riddler in one guy's fan trailer for a forth Nolan-directed Batman movie. Hey, why not, the guy rules!
- Can't really see Eddie as Captain Boomerang. Too nerdy looking.
- Nah, get a different actor for Red Hood. Levitt was in a Batman movie already.
- Nah. Can't see Blake Lively as Poison Ivy. Great actress, but too sweet for Pam.
- I second FlixMentallo21's comments on Gene Hackman.
- Jude can do American accents (I Heart Huckabees), he could work fine as Hamilton Hill.

Overall, not a bad cast! However, some pictures didn't appear, like Colin Farrell, Harley Quinn or Cameron Bright.

By the way, would you check out my fancast for Justice League International please?

I have to admit that this isn't too bad, but at least we have a REAL Suicide Squad cast, unlike that in-name-only cast that DCguy gave us.

My only gripe with this cast is Sam Rockwell as King Shark. The dude deserves a much better role than King Shark.
