Daniel Cudmore WILL NOT Be Reprising Colossus In DEADPOOL; Role Set To Be Recast
Remember last week, when it was reported that Colossus would appear in 2016's Deadpool and then it was widely speculated that Daniel Cudmore would be reprising the role? Well, it looks like some of that may have been a tad premature. Come check it out!
Last week, alongside the announcement that Gina Carano (Fast and Furious 6) would be joining Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) in Fox's Deadpool, it was revealed that Colossus would also be featuring in the 2016 film, with rumors circulating that Daniel Cudmore, who has played Peter Rasputin a.k.a. Colossus in three X-Men films, including last year's blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past, would be reprising the role for the highly ancipated film.
However, it seems as though, those rumors may have been unfounded as Cudmore himself has revealed via Twitter that Fox has decided to go in a different direction and that he will not be returning to the role. He has also seemingly said farewell to the part which began his film career in 2003's X2. Check out his tweets below:
Farewell, Daniel Cudmore. We'll always have this scene.
Now, with Cudmore saying goodbye, it seems as though we can officially begin speculation as to who the new Colossus should be. All I know is, I hope whomever Fox eventually decides on will be up to the tall task of going head-to-head with Reynolds' fast-talking, wise-cracking Merc with a Mouth.
