Suicide Squad may be taking a critical pummeling, but it's still nowhere close to the vitriol that Josh Trank's Fantastic Four Fant4stic received last year. The film, which sits at a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, has gone down as one of the worst received superhero films ever, due in no small part to studio meddling, rushed production, and severe deviation from the source material. Despite this, the film had assembled a talented cast who were let down by the material presented to them, one of whom was Miles Teller, who portrayed Reed Richards in the film.

While speaking with JoBlo about his new film, War Dogs, Teller expressed a willingness to return as Mr. Fantastic, citing a love for the characters and his castmates. "Yeah, for sure. I loved the cast, I loved the characters. I think it’s such an interesting dynamic. I love how much they really need to rely on each other. This Avengers thing, they’ve kind of created their own Fantastic Four in a way, Marvel’s first family. Their powers can’t just exist on their own, you need Thor to do this, the Hulk to do his thing. So yeah, absolutely, I would do another one."

As for whether the critical reception to Fant4stic has turned him off of the comic book movie genre, Teller emphasized that while he begins with the script, it's the director who holds the most power over the film in the end. "Obviously you learn more as you go on; for me I've really enjoyed the fact that I've been able to work in pretty much every genre. There's a lot of different factors you're going to take into account. I think script is super important, and director. The director is going to be the most powerful person in terms of what that final product is."

Despite the backlash, Teller maintains that he would never take on a role without fully commiting to the script and the character. "I can honestly say I've never just done something for money; I'd be really embarrassed for something like that to come out, that I had no attachment to the character, no attachment to the script. It takes a while before you're only working with the best directors, nobody's career is flawless."
