Clash of the Titans To Be A Trilogy?

Clash of the Titans To Be A Trilogy?

Louis Leterrior confirms that there are two additional scripts that could be used as sequels to this years 'Clash of the Titans'!

This from Firstshowing.net:

"After talking about the possibility of releasing an extended version, Leterrier revealed that: "On top of that, I wrote two other movies… It was three movies. Warners came to me and said 'we'll greenlight your movie if you promise us [two more.]'" He continues, "You can tell that that story the story doesn't end at the Clash of the Titans… And I said 'thanks a lot' because I love doing that. And I had to write two stories. So Clash of the Titans is, and especially 'Titans' is, actually a bigger movie. So 'Titans' are coming." That extended story is exactly what Leterrier likes in his movie, too. "I actually love wanting more out of a movie."

Nothing wrong with wanting more out of a movie. I say bring it. Off course the studio is waiting to release any official word until 'Clash of the Titans' hits theaters April 2, 2010. They obviously have to wait and see if the box office prediction of 77 million opening weekend holds true. I think it will and then all you doubters out there in CBM land will have your official confirmation. But for now, rest easy knowing there are two more Clash flicks waiting in the wings!

I read a similar article earlier and the trilogy would include other Greek heroes like Icarus and such.

Hopefully this movie does well. If its good Leterrier will have his hands full for a while with this and Avengers.

does this mean that LL won't be able to direct The Avengers?

I think Hecules/Herakles/Heracles, or whatever you want to call him, should get his own film.I would have preferred that instead of a Clash of the Titans trilogy. They should just split his 12 labors over three films.

yeah, i'm not sure this warrants a trilogy, like Tea said, that kind of goes against the whole point. but hey, if they're good, then i won't complain :)

If the first one is good then great..if not, then not so great! Its looking a bit disappointing to me since I saw some more clips..and Sammy's accent is truly appalling.

Yeah this movie will probly have a good opening weekend, but that doesn't mean that it's good. There are plenty of crappy movies that had good opening weekends.

@ rormachine

yeah, but i'm not a fan of worthington anyway. i never understood all the hype for him. he's been good in what i've seen him in, but nothing fantastic...he DOES look like he could tie a normal guy into a pretzel though, i'll give him that.

anyway, i'm really excited for this movie, i grew up watching Clash of the Titans. i LOVE the original, so i hope this one is good too!

Hey Everyone! Check out my new short story in fan fic

Ghosts of Yesterday (Featuring Zatanna and Question)

It features Zatanna and the Question teaming up to stop the ghost of a rapist that has an obsession with one young girl.

It is unlike anything I have ever written, it is a twisting emotional tale. I recommend you check it out!

I'll wait until I see the first one before I get too excited over this news..! I hope it's good though especially with Leterrier at the helm - the only thing that guaranteed to let this movie down is Sam Worthington's dodgy accent! ;)

yeah medussa is all CGI. couldve used a real face though... youd think after avatar, they would be able to put some expression in people's faces now...

and a trilogy? nah. talk about a beating a dead (flying) horse... let it alone! just release it and let it go. move on to something else.

I wonder, since the remake features Harpies (similar to the ones in Jason and the Arganauts) if the sequels will have mythical creatures from other Harryhausen flicks, like the Sinbad movies or 'Arganauts.

If the first flic is good bring on another. The only thing that worries me about this movie is the lack of Calibos.

While I really enjoyed TIH and Transporter (and part 2 to some degree) I'm not sure he is the best pick for Avengers. Though he does seem to have a passion for genre which is a huge plus. If a Clash trilogy ties him up there are other directors that could do it. Avengers needs a director that is master or at least fantastic with ensemble type films.

I would be estatic if Pixar made live action movies (to the same ridiculously high standard of their animated films) and they got the job of making The Avengers. The story and the characters would come first and the action would be mind-blowing - aka everything I dream The Avengers will achieve. But alas, that probably (definately, really) won't be happening, but its not an impossible dream.

But I can't think of a director that I can see as 'perfect' for The Avengers. Maybe only the big names (Cameron, Spielberg, Jackson) could do it properly but they are all very busy for the next 2-5 years what with JC doing Avatar 2 or Battle Angel (hopefully!), SS + PJ doing a Tin Tin trilogy, as well as them all producing something like 10 films each, AS WELL AS whatever other stuff they've got in the pipeline.

Any suggestions? Who can hack that kind of pressure!

I'd like some of the other ancient stories made into film, like Zeus' origin, with his dad eating his siblings and all, or Hercules, maybe some ancient Egyptian religion stories. If you have this great technology but can't write a good story, do some of the more obscure old stories but really well with good visuals. That being said I'm looking forward to Clash of the Titans alot.

If it does spawn sequels, it'll be the first remake since "The Mummy" to do so.

I would like to see other gods from other places brought in. Kind of like the Age of Mythology video game. Have not just some Egyptian lore like someone suggest earlier, but also some Norse mythology and all out fight against all gods. It would be cool to see Odin and Zeus staring each other down.
