Stephen Lang on Playing Khalar Singh in CONAN from ColliderVideos on Vimeo.

Lang: they just finished shooting in Bulgaria.

He also said he wasn't "an aficionado" of the previous Conan films.

He goes on to say: when he read the script for this film, he felt he could get behind it. It's very true to the world Robert E Howard created.

Jason Momoa is a "stud" and that he did a great job in the movie. Because Momoa outweighs him by 35 pounds "it took all of his old man wiles and strength to beat the hell out of him!" The film "starts with an action sequence and then goes for two hours with a break here and there"

Bad news is that there won't be any Conan stuff at Comic Con because the studio opted not to bring any.

That's a shame. And a bit worrying. Although it could just be that they have nothing ready of course. Be sure to watch the video for some more on Avatar and the soon to be released extended cut.

Here's a little something else for Barbarian fans. This is a wraparound cover for Dark Horse's Conan #25 by Geof Darrow, scheduled for September release. But apparently the cover may be deemed too violent and be withdrawn.

Cool cover, but yeah, I can see it being pulled.

What's so violent about it? Just some heads rolled, axes on heads, blood... lots of blood. XD

"Says its very true to the world Robert E Howard created."
So it's going to be R-rated then?

Great find Ror! I for one can't wait to see this film!!! I just bought a mint condition used version of Conan on the PS3... FOR LIKE 4$!!! And it's getting me so psyched up for the movie! This game is AWESOME!!! Naked chicks and gore galore :))

As for this wrap around cover, as much as i like semi realistic art a la Heavy Metal Movie, and as much as i hate over the top muscle on top of muscle art a la Liefield/McFarlane, this cover kinda sucks. I like all the graphic details and all but when i ever see a Conan with sagging tits, it just shits all over the mysticism & magic of the character. It's like the first sequence in Batman Gotham Knight... What was that all about with the beer bellied bloated vaginal blood fart of a portrayal of Batman??? This shouldn't be rocket surgery.

CONAN doesn't need remaking with STARGATE boy!

He could have been a passable TV CONAN maybe! : P

Talking TV CONAN, I hope this is a bit better than the TV (RALF) CONAN TV movie! ; D

(I'd say series, but I didn't get that far lol)

hmmmm Yeah that seems like a bit of a mistake to me. Not having something at Comicon.

I mean there is no single better way to get the word out among fans that aren't yet aware of this project.

As far as marketing to fans that's a really big deal.
What can they possibly be thinking?

Who said that game was awesome? I said that game was awesome. I mean, the game play has some problems, but that means it only cost $8 for me and $4 for Shaman. Totally worth it.

Shaman, can you do that thing where you hit them with your shield knocking them into the air horizontally and then cut them in half? I love that one. Have you fought the dragon? I HATE THAT FREAKING DRAGON!

Also, ditto on the cover.

Mass- BUDDY!!!!! YEAH, that game is totally [frick]in' awesome!!! A few months back i wanted to snag it for 14$ used, but i wasn't sure about it cause i hadn't heard a word about it so i asked the guy at the counter and he said it was a sucky hack/slash type of game. So i left it be. Then you guys were talking about it on an earlier Conan film thread and got me curious. I youtubed it and thought it looked decent. So when i fell upon it at 4$ i couldn't say no. It would have been retarded of me ESPECIALLY given the fact that the case as well as disc was freakin' MINT condition!!! I laughed the night away on the crazy deal i had gotten LMFAO!!!

Personally i think the game play is fine. I haven't had any problems with it what so ever. The gameplay is very similar to the recent Prince of Persia:FS game as well as Batman Arkham Asylum. I LOVE the grapple moves such as the backbreaker and the piledriver! I haven't bought the sheild uppercut yet, i guess the slice follows it. Unless it's a "parry" type move that i have to tap the block button the second they try to hit me. But i'll get around to it, i'm not that far in the game yet ;)

[frick] I HATE THAT GODDAMN DRAGON!!!! Even my girlfriend was saying how irritating that goddamn dragon was. She loves to watch me play LOL. The dragon scared the shit out of her LOL But yeah, i yelled out loud "IN YOUR MOTHER[frick]ING FACE" the second i actually beat him LOL. [frick] he was hard to kill. And goddamn they really don't give you much HP recovery concidering the fact that you have to beat him like 5 or 6 times consecutively! But i was glad to have kicked its ass LOL ;P

Everybody- AWESOME [frick]ING GAME!!! Did i mention there were naked chicks you got to save?!?!?! BUY IT!!! :))

The one where you cut them in half horizontally is a parry movie with sword and shield, now that I think about it.

I that dragon is so freaking ridiculous. If it didn't look so cool and give you a satisfied feeling from killing it I would have probably ditched the game right there. Also, the Squid is almost as bad. I gotta admit I haven't beat the game yet because I got tothe final boss after hours of game play and I just said "I'm going to have to kill you 9 times, aren't I?" So I loaned it to a friend.

Uh, the cover looks like a bunch of psychos at a trailer park finally had enough of each other. Weird that the masterful Darrow thought a bunch of Milwaukees Best chuggers viciously killing each other would make for a good Conan cover. The man's skill is undeniable, though.
@Shaman, jesus, the game was decent but nothing special, relax.

I dont say nothing about the movie before i see the trailer?!... But it doesnt sound good right now!

@imnotwearinghockeypants - oh yeah, if it wasn't a Conan game, it would be just slightly above average, but it captures the feel of the stories really well, I thought.

Its like Ultimate Alliance. The fact that its Marvel is the only thing that keeps it from being fairly Meh.
imnotwearinghockeypants
imnotwearinghockeypants - 6/29/2010, 7:23 AM
@mass, yeah, I hear you, but nothing could save Ultimate Alliance for me. I played it for all of 5 minutes. I was Thor and Iron Man and fought Bulls Eye on a space ship. Ridiculous.

@imnotwearinghockeypants - HA! Yes, kind of silly, but 4 player is just to fun to give up. And when Luke Cage says "Sweet Christmas!" and kills everybody in the room with his charge up move, that is just good times.

imnotwearinghockeypants- LOL I know i sound retarded there but you have to keep in mind that i got this game for 4$ in mint condition WHICH ALSO like Mass says, captures the lore of the character amazingly well. So all that concidered it actually makes it pretty damn awesome for my tastes. And it's also the first game i ever bought that gave me shitloads of gore ASWELL AS naked chicks to save. The gameplay is great, soundtrack is awesome, the voice acting is a bit meh but feels like barbarian dialect from Ron Pearlman's mouth and the graphics are PS3 worthy for its time of release. I dunno dude, it feels pretty awesome. If i had paid 60$ for it i no doubt would probably have been very dissapointed since it is a very basic hack and slash game. But the Conan fan in me gets joygazms everytime i play it :) Oh and i completely agree with you analysis of the cover! Looks like Conan meets Hank Hill! But the artist normally does have mad skills. He just doesn't fit Conan's books though.

Mass& Pants- As for Ultimate Aliance, i for one ain't a fan of that type of game. I hated both X-Men legends games but i bought and played through the first Aliance game entirely... once. I traded it in the next day though cause it really didn't have any replay value to me. The second one completely lost me. It didn't appeal to me at all.

Mass- I will totally agree with you about the comic book source factor to a game. It really brings extra excitement to playing the game IMO. Can't wait for Batman:AA2 even though i'd have prefered a full roam type game a la Infamous this time around. On a side note, can't wait for Infamous 2 :))

I'll give it a chance but I dont really care all that much about Conan meaning I'm not all that concerned about how it turns out! :P Still, I hope it's good for those of you who are fans of the character! It would have been nice to hear some more info or even see some pictures/footage at Comic Con to at least get a better idea about whether it'll actually be any good or not though..!

MassExecutions - 6/29/2010, 8:19 AM
@Shaman & Pants - Ultimate Alliance is meant to be played with 3 other comic book fan friends. That is the only way its really fun. I'm Captain America, my sister is Luke Cage, my wife is Ms. Marvel, my best friend is Ghost Rider, and a Sunday afternoon is wasted. Good times. Oh, sometimes my other sister is Dr. Strange and my cousin is Deadpool. Don't want them to feel left out.
imnotwearinghockeypants
imnotwearinghockeypants - 6/29/2010, 8:22 AM
@shaman, I too bought it in a bargain bin, and it was definitely worth $4 and I agree with the lore bit. And the naked chicks. AA2 won't be free roam?
Shaman
Shaman - 6/29/2010, 9:00 AM
Mass- Yeah i guess it would be better that way ;)

imnotwearinghockeypants- Well, apparently it will be as "free roam" as the first one was with a slightly bigger map since it's in gotham city. But word is that you won't be able to free roam through the whole city. But it's too early to tell, who knows, they might have given us what most of us want ;)

Lee@ The original Conan was a piece of crap from a source standpoint and I am glad to hear more confirmation that this film will be true to Robert E. Howard's Conan. Stargate boy is a much...much...beter actor and fighter than Arnold could have ever dreamt of being. ;-)

"The original Conan was a piece of crap from a source standpoint and I am glad to hear more confirmation that this film will be true to Robert E. Howard's Conan."

Unless they've completely thrown out the script and completely remade the plot, it's no more true to Robert E. Howard than Conan the Adventurer was.
