After a slightly disappointing sixth series of the Worlds longest running science fiction series, Doctor Who is making it's triumphant return to the screen this Autumn/Fall.

We already know a few little bits - and a few rumors - so here is a bit of a catch up and official descriptions from the BBC for the first three episodes.

Episode 1: Asylum Of The Daleks - Kidnapped by his oldest foe, the Doctor is forced on an impossible mission – to a place even the Daleks are too terrified to enter… the Asylum. A planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of their kind, the Doctor and the Ponds must find an escape route. But with Amy and Rory’s relationship in meltdown, and an army of mad Daleks closing in, it is up to the Doctor to save their lives, as well as the Pond’s marriage.

Episode 2: Dinosaurs On A Spaceship - An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo… of dinosaurs! By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers; a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else onboard who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.

Episode 3: A Town Called Mercy - The Doctor gets a Stetson (and a gun!), and finds himself the reluctant Sheriff of a Western town under siege by a relentless cyborg, who goes by the name of the Gunslinger. But who is he and what does he want? The answer seems to lie with the mysterious, Kahler-Jex, an alien doctor (yes another one!) whose initial appearance is hiding a dark secret.

Now we also know someone dies midway through the season and the TARDIS crew will be joined by Rory's Dad (played by Mark Williams, or Mr Weasley to the Harry Potter fans). I personally can't see Rory dying again (what... like the third or fourth time) so my bet is on Amy.

We also know the fan favorite baddies of the modern era, The Weeping Angels, will be making as return as well as old firm villains The Daleks.

I'm really looking forward to this series, which I am guessing will appear on our screen towards the middle of October. We also know the TARDIS crew will go their separate ways in episode six, making way for the introduction of new companion Jenna-Lousie Coleman, who will be portraying the character Carla.

The few rumors flying around are Carla will be the daughter of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, played by actor Nicholas Courtney, who sadly passed away February last year.

Also rumored is the TARDIS will have a complete makeover in preparation for next years 50th Anniversary. Again, this is just a rumor - I personally don't see the point as the current TARDIS interior has only been around for a couple or series and, I have to admit, I am pretty attached to it.

The final rumor is the return of Neil Gaiman writing an episode (possibly episodes 12 and 13) of series 7. This would be fantastic as his episode in series 6, The Doctor's Wife, was by far the most compelling of the last series and probably one of the best written Doctor Who episodes ever.

And finally, The Doctor is getting a bit of a make over also. Check out the mauve/lilac number...

Very well, where should I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. A sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. If I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard, really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fifteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shaven scrotum.
