Just got done watching Prince of Thieves. Nothing can top that when it comes to Robin Hood.

Prince of Theives is a great movie
just watched it last month in anticipation of this movie
does anyone else feel like Russel Crow looks just like he did in Gladiator
like exactly to the point where im gonna hell MAXIMUS MAXIMUS whenever i see him on screen

Sorry guys, I am not that big a fan of Prince of Thieves, though it is mainly due to my dislike of Costner. Admitedly Rickman and Wincott rocked in it but I would still pick Robin and Marion over Prince of Thieves.

JerusalemJr- I'm with you, Rickman and Wincott are THE ONLY reason why Prince is watchable. And this new vision looks action packed but flawed aswell. Crowe can't pull off a convincing Hood. It's a role that is just not right for him. I love Crowe but he's just wrong for this part. And the worst casting is Blanchet as Marianne... simply aweful. The movie looks as watchable as Prince so i'll buy it in the bargin bin. i would have loved to watch a beautifuly cast Ridley Scott Robin Hood feature... pity. I really hope that Crowe uses a longbow in the film cause that little thing he's holding looks like what he uses to floss.

Prince Of Thieves is a good kids movie. But watching it as an adult is like having teeth pulled. Costner sucks, Slater sucks more. Freeman and Rickman are good..but even they are let down by the piss poor script. This will be better Im sure..even if it is the same old story, Scott will always at least deliver a decent movie(Except for Gi Jane!..and Kingdom Of Heaven:)

I kinda liked GI Jane. Viggo was awesome in it ;) Oh and "Legend" is a classic but a piss poor one at that! I watched it recently and almost fell asleep. Labyrinth was actually better... AND IT STARRED DAVID BOWIE!!! LOL :P

labrynth is the greatest kids story haha
and i liked kingdom of heaven (another movie ror hates and i like :)

i have to agree Shaman that this doesnt look like a robin hood movie but just another medieval epic. im probably gonna watch it solely for the fact that i love those style of movies but it looks as accurate to a robin hood movie as the sherlock holmes movie with jude law as watson
the first time i heard the line 'watson has never been described as sexy, until now...' made me want to punch babies

I didn't exactly hate Kindom, it was just..meh. Nothing happened in it! I was sitting there for over 2 hours before i realized i was bored to tears. It didn't help that acting vacuum Orlando Bloom was the main character either. What a useless [frick].

Realfirst- I actually think the Sherlock Holmes movie looks awesome but REALLY DOESN'T look like a Sherlock Holmes movie should. But i feel you on that if you're a huge fan of the classics. You're entirely correct, this doesn't feel like Robin Hood the same as RDJ's film doesn't feel like Sherlock's.

Ror- Never saw Kingdom... partly cause it's over 2 hours... led by the acting vacuum LOL He is a useless [frick] but i enjoyed him in LOTR. He was damn annoying in Pirates though.

I am very much looking forward to seeing this movie. It's about time they put a Robin Hood origin story out there. Now if only someone would make a Zorro origin story movie.

This one looks good, but I'm a Errol Flynn fan(Costner sucks). The guy in the Flynn movie who actually did the shooting, is the guy who Ollie Queen's mentor was modeled after.....

I don't think you can fail if you have robin hood in the title, no matter how bad the movie may be. He's an internationally known character so this movie already has a large built in audience....and yeah I noticed that mr.crowe doesn't look like he'll be shooting anyone to soon in that poster, as his arrow seems to be missing...op my bad I see it now it's just blurry.

yeah, I see it now, it's a little out of focus so I missed it at first, it blended in with the rest of the bow. I didn't notice it until I saw the smaller picture on the main page. I think it's a resizing thing.

This movie has SUCK written all over it. this was your chance to use a great charasmatic young actor to sell your movie and actually BE Robin Hood. Nothing about Russel Crowe says 'Robin Hood' but ridley scott wanted to dress up his 'gladiator 2' idea, aparently, and try to sell it to us as somthing else. Besides Russel Crowe does not sell a movie just by using his name, not anymore. audiences are smarter than that now-a-days.

Prediction: FLOP

It's not Russel Crowe's name that's selling this movie though, it's Robin Hood. I can't think of a single Robin Hood movie that floped. I mean even prince of thieves, which received poor reviews from critics, did well in theaters. It had a poor script and questionable acting from costner, but it did well simply because Robin Hood is an internationally known character. With that immense audience in place you can't fail.
