NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter John Logan (GLADIATOR, HUGO).
Darren Aronofsky (
Black Swan) has some Biblical work on his hands in his latest film
Noah, which is about a prophet of God who builds an ark to continue life when a flood covers the Earth. Russell Crowe is attached to star in the film. The story is based on Aronofsky's graphic novel, as well as the classic Bible story. Now, we have some more casting news for the movie.
Deadline reports that two more cast members have been added to the upcoming film, Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth. Both will play two of Noah's sons, Ham (Lerman) and Shem (Booth). Additionally, the site confirms that Liam Neeson (who was being eyed for the role of the main villain) will not be involved. Deadline also reveals that the role of Noah's wife has yet to be cast (despite Jennifer Connelly said to be in talks for the role), as well as that of the love interest for Noah's oldest son.
Noah is set to hit theaters on March 28th, 2014.
