Return To The Land Of Fillory In This New Trailer For Syfy's THE MAGICIANS Season 2

Syfy Network has released a brand new trailer for the second season of their adaptation of Lev Grossman's hit fantasy series, The Magicians, and it appears that life is about to get dark in Fillory...

Season 1 of Syfy's The Magicians ended on a precarious note, with Quentin Coldwater and his friends left for dead at the hands of The Beast, and betrayed by Julia, who is now seeking revenge with the villain's assistance.

Syfy has now given us a glimpse at the fate of our heroes with the trailer for season 2, revealing them to be miraculously alive (apparently thanks to Alice), and set to become the new rulers of the magical realm of Fillory. However, the threat of The Beast still lingers, and it remains to be seen if the group can muster the power to defeat him once and for all.

Season 2 of The Magicians will premiere on Syfy on January 25, 2017.

Based upon Lev Grossman's best-selling books, The Magicians stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, Aquarius) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie) and Summer Bishil (Towelhead, Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.

@Talontd - I went in as a complete novice, had never read the books, but my lady LOVED them and was excited about the series, so I gave it a try.

Was much bolder and darker than I expected it to be, really excited for season 2.

@MattBellissimo - Haha, yea man....it's no Harry Potter. The translation from one medium to another may have actually benefited this series. Books definitely dragged at times, but the tv series has had me enthralled. I've only read the 1st two books, think i'll finish the series once the tv run is over...

@MattBellissimo - Same here. It was a unique, darker, take on the "magical school" genre. Plus, all the females on the show are super hot (Jade Tailor is my fav). Looking forward to season two.
