RUMOR: A Pokémon Feature Film in The Works At Warner Bros. Entertainment?

Could there be a movie adaptation of the anime series Pokémon in the future for us all?

I've got a scoop but its still classed as a rumor at this time. A friend of a friend got slipped some information from a contact at Warner Bros. Entertainment. I can't get into too much detail about that as probably jobs are at stake if I do, but apparently the company had commissioned a screenplay for a movie adaptation of the popular Pokémon franchise a while back and I've been told a first draft has just recently been turned in.

I've also been told that the screenplay is based on a story that was originally conceived by Ken Sugimori and Warner Brothers is going to great lengths to try to keep all this under wraps.

The contact hasn't been able to find out yet if the script features Ash and the gang from the anime or if it's all original characters. However, I've been promised much more information wise soon with something more solid too.

LEEE777 - Take all that anyway you want, but I'm not surprised a movie like this is in the works, I'm actually surprised its not already been made. Me not being much of a Pokémon fan and all, but if they did do a live-action movie of this, it would warrant my attention and interest. As long as it doesn't turn into the next Last Airbender or Dragonball, I'm there!

Well since Universal is doing a Bakugan movie with the Karate Kid remake director........I'm not surprised if this is in the pipeline for WB. Just don't hire Michael Bay.lol

Well the special creature effects could make it look awesome. But then it might end up like Dragonball or any number of Video game movies story & acting wise :(

I used to be a HUGE fan of the franchise, but lost appeal a few years ago. But a live action adaptation sounds interesting.

I don't understand WBs.They own the entire DC/Wildstorm/Vertigo catalog. They have an array of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, supernatural and adventure projects they could be adapting.

Why are they looking outside of their company for projects to make like Pokemon or Bleach?

my question is how would they make it the creatures not look too fake, campy or creepy...i think it will be hard to adapt them into live action
