The below came from Theonering.net, when asked if 'The Hobbit' will or will not be in 3-D?

"I wouldn't read much on it just yet, but now, after all this time, after AVATAR doing the Box Office it did, we have had enquires from above about The Hobbit being in 3-D.

No impositions or heavy leaning. Just enquires. Just fulfilling my promise to let you all know if discussions ever started.

Cheers

I think it's a step in the right direction. Movie producers actually weighing in on the question of 'To Be Or Not To Be In 3-D?' It's the million dollar question on every Hollywood producers mind. Some films need 3-D, some films are better because of 3-D. But most of the movie going audience could care less either way. What they want is a good solid movie and after the original LOTR trilogy, 'The Hobbit' better deliver.
