Nicholas Cage is taking Johnny Blaze to Romania for Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance. And it will of course, be in 3D.

According to Hotnews.com, the sequel to Ghost Rider will be shooting a bit farther afield than its predecessor..

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vegeance, the sequel of Ghost Rider (2007), the action movie inspired from the Marvel comics will be shot starting this Fall in Romania, Marketing Manager at Castel Film, Bogdan Moncea declared for Hotnews.ro. The film produced by Columbia Pictures is the first big American production shot in Romania, after Cold Mountain in 2002. Ghost Rider 2 will also be the first 3D movie shot in Romania.



The sequel is being directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor(Crank with a script by David Goyer, who along with the previous movie's director mark Steven Johnson, is also producing. Exact plot details are unklnown, but Cage spoke to MTV recently and revealed:

"This story picks up eight years after the first film. You don't have to have seen the first film. It doesn't contradict anything that happened in the first film, but we're pretending that our audience hasn't seen the first film. It's as if you took that same character where things ended in the first film and then picked it up eight years later - he's just in a much darker, existential place."

Nic cage there, apparently seeing how many times he can fit the words "first film" in an interview. So, what do you guys think of this requel type approach but with Cage still in the saddle?

I don't know whether to hope that it's much better than the first one because the first movie was horrid or whether to hope that the movie sucks & fails so that Marvel can get the rights back.

If it wasn't for the director's cut of Daredevil, I seriously would have thought that Mark Steven Johnson was retarded. MSJ + Fox = really bad combination.

Ghost Rider is produced by Colombia Pictures, who are owned by Sony. Can't blame Fox for that one!

I am excited for the new ghost rider movie. I think this gives Nic another chance to do Ghost Rider the way his creators would have wanted him. I personally liked the first one. sure it kinda sped through possible epic fights against the bad guys, but in the end it was a cool movie. And I would rather them jump ahead a few years than reboot. (fick reboots). It worked for Punisher.

I am a little bit curious about the flick. The guys who did Crank are making it. Maybe it will be R rated and we can get the Ghost Rider movie we deserve.

I didn't mind cage as Blaze, over acted a bit but thats his thing! It kinda worked. And Ghost Rider himself looked cool. Everything else was shite. 15 mins before the end i actually felt like walking out.

This one sounds pretty cool,based off what Cage said of course. Hopefully it will include Danny Ketch. Because it's starting to sound like it.

I had never read a Ghost Rider comic before the movie came out. so to me it was new and i liked it. I am ok with Nic Cage as an actor but i maybe wish they might of got some one abit younger. But i loved the scenes where he rode the motorcycle up the side of the building and also where the older Ghost Rider rode along with him on his horse. I have a picture of that for my screen saver. But an R rating i think would help out the next one alot for those who didnt like the first one.

The costumes for X-Men: first class are going to be more comic bookish(words from the mouth of Bryan Singer) and the movie will take place in the 60's. Do I smell yellow spandex. Ghost Rider 2 will be better then X-Men first class.

reboot ghost rider,the first one was shit.

its not the charactor,ghost rider is awesome.

its just the cast,sam eliott was the only good actor in it.

they should look at doing maybe a couple of guest star heroes the likes of spider-man & the punisher.

I did not mind the first Ghost Rider movie. It was not great but it was not nearly as bad as Jonah Hex either. Maybe at the end of this one they can have Johnny Blaze free himself from the curse. They they could go forward with the Daniel Ketch as the Ghost Rider and skip a reboot. Then after a few movies they could go back to Johnny Blaze w/o Nick Cage. My 2 cents...

I was okay with the first one. Nothing spectacular, but entertaining enough. I thought Cage did a pretty good job, but felt the rest of the cast, especially the way the villains were portrayed fell short.

I loved how Ghost Rider LOOKED in the fist movie. I hated the story and the actors who played the villians. I found the story to be uncreative, sterile and dumbed down and the villans were just not up to standard. They took a couple of liberties with the source material that eventually worked.

Mark Steven Johnson is the Director of Dare Devil which was an OK CBM. It is obvious that he likes to take liberties with the source material hence Michael Clark Duncan as King Pin and other details.

I really dont know what Nic Cage means by making it a Darker Film? In my opinion Ghost Rider should have been gritty and Dark not as campy as the first film. I mean most CBMs should be Rated R. Not because there should be massive killings but to be able to fully express the complexity and tell the story of these unique and sometimes tragic individuals.

I really hope that Ghost Rider 2 can redeem the first film.
