SNAKE EYES First Look Images Show Off The Fan-Favorite Hero, Storm Shadow, Scarlett, The Baroness & More

Entertainment Weekly has just shared eight kickass new images from Paramount's Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, offering a first look at Henry Golding (Crazy Rich AsiansThe Gentlemen) as the fan-favorite commando before he gets his iconic suit.

While the character has been shrouded in mystery since his introduction, the Robert Schwentke-directed film will finally pull back the curtain on where he actually came from, and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura promises that fans of the franchise will get answers they've long been waiting for - including his real name.

Says Golding, "I wanted to see something different, and I wanted it to look different, to feel different. To be able to launch a franchise like that, it was just too good to be true — and especially with a character like Snake Eyes about whom a lot of people don't know too much. They know him as this insane operator that completes missions and is an absolute weapon, but who's the guy behind the mask and what's his story?

In addition to Snake Eyes, the photos showcase Storm Shadow (Andrew Koji), Akiko (Haruka Abe), Scarlett (Samara Weaving), and The Baroness (Úrsula Corberó).

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins opens in theaters on July 23, and is then expected to debut on Paramount+ after a 45-day exclusive theatrical window.

The images are an EW-exclusive, so be sure to click on the link below to check them out and get even more details on the film!

The cast is top notch and its nice to know they got the fight and stunt coordinator from the Rurôni Kenshin films

But, the director is a worry. Red is a fun movie though at the very least and he did helm that.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Exactly. 99% of Snake-Eye's life is supposed to be classified. His mystique is part of the allure.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I'm with you but the one thing that intrigued me about this movie was the possibility of them committing to having a non-speaking lead and now we know he will talk...

Which sucks. Would've ben ballsy to have him just have him communicate via his usual short-hand sign language.

But he is essentially like Joker: the more mystery the better

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Sure you do...and it needs to take at least 3 films to do it.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - the unnecessary rewriting of characters in Hollywood runs rampant. Very few people have original ideas anymore and 90% of them think their vision is better than the source material. It's crap and alienates fans that would like faithful adaptations and we're left with products that are usually mediocre at best. See MK and Coke Young for a prime example.

I like Henry Golding always comes across as likeable and charming in his roles.
Also played against type in The Gentleman so looking forward to this.

Cannot get enough of Andrew Loki as well man, just awesome in Warrior, one of those shows that I try and spread the word about.

Love Samara Weaving as well, glad to see her continue to keep getting roles

Also what more can I say about Iko Uwais, love the Raid movies.

To me that image of Scarlet looks like a digital painting or a still from a video game. 🤷‍♂️

I'm glad for all of my nerdiness and 80's nostalgia, I never got into GI Joe. So, when a project comes along like this, I can just ignore it-

Samara Weaving as Scarlett
