FAN-CAST: What If ? Rushr Cast Christopher Nolan's Green Arrow: Supermax

Christopher Nolan has stated that his time in the superhero genre is over, but what if he changed his mind? Join me to see what my choices would be for the cast and the story he would tell!

Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors of today and the Dark Knight Trilogy is among some of my all time favorite films ( including Rises with its flaws)

Here I play a big what if bringing back Nolan to the superhero genre and creating a story and casting its characters.  Check it out!

Plot: Inspired by Justin Mark's and David Goyer’s Escape from Supermax script and tv show "Prison Break," Oliver Queen is framed for a murder he didn't commit, and sent to the prison “Supermax" where he must fight and team with some of his worse super villains and foes.

Written by: Jonathan Nolan

Produced by: Emma Thomas

Directed by: Christopher Nolan

Brad Pitt (Fury, Fight Club) as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow

Reason for casting: Brad is a well recognized actor with an Oscar as a producer in 12 years a slave. His roles in Legends of the fall, Fight Club and Benjamin Button show his range and acting skill.

Other Possibilities:
Leonardo Dicaprio

Guy Pearce (Memento, Iron Man 3) as Edward Nigma/Riddler

Reason for casting: Guy has worked with Nolan Before and was amazing in Memento, a favorite to play this role since the DK Trilogy and fits the role like a glove.

Jim Cavelizel ( Person of Interest) as Merlyn

Reason for casting: Jim is one of my favorite actors and has ties to the Nolans through Jonathan’s show “ Person of Interest”

Other Possibilities:
 Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise

Some Suicide Squad members would also appear.

Will Smith ( I Robot, Hitch) as Deadshot

Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street) as Harley Quinn

Jared Leto ( Dallas Buyer's Club) as The Joker

Michael Caine (Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception) as the Warden of the Prison

Reason for casting: Caine will always have a role in Nolan's Films so why not the Warden of the Prison.

Jessica Chastain (Interstellar) as Poison Ivy

Reason for casting: Jessica recently worked alongside Nolan in his film "Interstellar" and has spoken out about wanting a kick ass superhero or villian role. I give her Poison. Poison Ivy.

Now, for some controversy.

Returning to her role,

Anne Hathaway (Dark Knight Rises) as Catwoman

Reason for casting: If Nolan were to return to do a comic book film, Anne has gone out and stated that he's the only one she would consider being Selina Kyle again for. She was great in The Dark Knight Rises and derseves more screen time to prove the haters wrong.

Most of the film would be in the prison with a few scenes showing what's and who's waiting for Oliver back home..

The role of Black Canary is one I struggled with, finding an actress who was strong, smart, tough and could act opposite Brad Pitt

Reese Witherspoon (Wild) as Dinah Laurel Lance/ Black Canary

Reason for casting
Reese Witherspoon is a Academy Award winning actress for the film " Walk the Line" and in her upcoming film "Wild" she plays a woman who's life is in ruins and decides to hike across country, a film she is recieving lots of praise and nominations for. Reese is on a mission to protray strong woman on film and has left her "legally blonde" days behind her. The casting of Reese as the Black Canary is a controversial one, but one I decided on making on talent more than ability to do stunt work. She could easily start preparing to take on this physical role and become a kick ass Black canary.

Other possibiltities: Diane Kruger, Jennifer Lawerence, Scarlet Johansson, Blake Lively,Kate Hudson,Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rachel Mcadams

(As you can tell the role of Black Canary was difficult for me to cast)

finally,

Protecting Star City while Oliver is gone,

Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as Arsenal

Thanks for checking out my hypothetical Christopher Nolan Fan- Cast! Comment your opinions and suggestions below!!

- Need a younger Green Arrow!
- Guy Pearce would make a splendid Riddler!
- Neat Merlyn pick!
- I'm down with Jessica as Poison Ivy, despite it being a played out casting choice.
- Sorry, despite your mission statement, no to Reese as Black Canary. Besides, she once stated that she will NEVER do a comic book role.

Would you please check out my Batman/Superman: World's Finest fan cast and comment on it?

@RoadDogXXIV
Thanks for the comment, yes I'll check out yours.
Both oliver and canary were hard for me to cast and I felt an older Oliver Queen could fit well in the DCCU and also distance itself from the TV verison.
As for canary, I thought it would be a unpopular casting but I was unaware she had made such statement. It was 4 years ago and all she stated was she thought a woman of her age wouldn't fit well in a cbm. She was 34 at the time.

But as you can see by my many multiple alternatives at canary, I found it extremely difficult to cast someone who had ability and skill at an older age that matched my Oliver.

Interesting fancast. Although if Anne Hathaway is reprising her role, how come Michael Caine is playing another character in the same universe?

Are you implying Harley and Joker would be imprisoned at Supermax? That doesn't make any [frick]ing sense.

@SimplyAz anne would repise but create a new interpretation since its a new universe and not the batman Nolanverse.
Hence the reason Caine would play another character.

@VictorDomashev why doesn't it make sense ? In the original story by David Goyer ans Justin marks, the joker was said to be imprisoned alongside other villains with green arrow, thus the reason I included him in the fan cast. thanks for the comment

David Goyer can't write. Joker was shoehorned in for marketing, plain and simple. Clinically insane people wouldn't be at a facility like Supermax.
