In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

No huge breaking news here, but it's something to keep us Green Lantern fans hopeful for now. Stuart Thomas is a composer who works with James Newton Howard frequently and will be teaming up with him again to score 'Green Lantern'.

He sent out a couple tweets regarding the movie, one of them saying that he has in fact seen some recent CGI for the movie and apparently it looks amazing. We can only hope.

I think it's safe to say that if you compare the recent picture of Abin Sur, to the image we saw in the first trailer that it's a significant improvement, so I think all the CGI haters out there are going to be pleasantly surprised once we see more from the finished product.

'Green Lantern' hits theaters June 17th

Got to see a new trailer, this guy's comments mean very little, especially since he's working on the film.

Although he works on the movie and his opinion is bias to say the least, He could have not said a word about it. It's not like everyone working on the film must praise it. He did that all on his own. Anything positive said about the movie makes me more enthusiastic about it.

I was one of the people who was very underwelmed by the initial trailer we saw. With this long wait for the second trailer, i'm becoming more confident that the CGI team heard all the negative criticism and have worked their tails off to improve the CGI for the next trailer to make sure it's up to the standards that DC fans expect. I also think that even after the second trailer finally releasing the CGI team will still be working diligently on improving on the movie and by the time it comes out it will look absolutely mind-blowing.

This is my hope, because GL is my 2nd favorite DC character after Supes

@albieg, that made no sense lol. "I don't bash people on here" right after calling him a "faggot" lol. Even if I agree with you about bashing a film before ya see it deal, you're pretty hypocritical to say the least.

I guess i would like more if the constructs looked more defined, "Tron" or "Automan" style, instead of flame or smoke like.

They are "Green Lanterns", not "Green Flames", like Justice League´s Beatriz da Costa "Fire".

Personally I'm just not concerned about the CGI.

Even if it is somehow under par, that just takes a back seat to the fact that this is a faithful Green Lantern movie. I never in a million years dreamed that they would even go there.

@AlternateNo4, very good point

Im as of now really looking forward to GL, because im with a doubt convinced that cap and especially THOR is gonna be awesome.

As someone mentioned, I too want to see how the constructs are going to look like. I just wish they would release something for us to really look at. Abin Sur was great, but Im paying to see Reynolds as Hal so i would really want to see that.

With that said I hope they pull through with this movie. Honestly I used to be super marvel but im starting to notice i just love CBMs . So i hope this does well

OK, so the CGI is great. That still doesn't help the acting or the script (I Know, RIGHT?). As people who saw the Star Wars prequels will attest, special effects can be great but the movie can still be crap. Although, if Green Lantern achieves Star Wars level box office, I think WB will be happy even if no one else is.

BTW, those who are saying you can't judge a movie until you see it are ignorant. Because by then, its too late, you've already paid your money and seen a terrible movie. That makes you a moron/idiot for paying to see a movie EVEN AFTER you saw a trailer that made it look like shit. Which is why they say a fool and his money are soon parted.

Trailers are specifically designed to arouse interest in a film, to get movie goers to WANT to pay to see it. If the trailer or promotion doesn't entice interest, normal people don't PAY to see the film. Only an idiot would PAY to see a movie even AFTER the coming attractions depicted it as crap. So saying a movie looks like shit because of a trailer doesn't make a person a hater, it makes them perceptive.

And smart.
