Mark Strong Talks A Little Bit Green Lantern.

Here's what he had to say.

Here's what Mark Strong has to say:
On the question if he has seen the film yet; “I haven’t seen it yet,” says Strong, but I’ve seen the artwork and if they can get that right, it’ll be astonishing.”

Comparing it with John Carter of Mars CGI direction:
“They’re very similar in sense that they’re like trying to make a jigsaw puzzle with two thirds of the pieces missing because so much of it is CGI. As Andrew Stanton says, ‘I’m not in post, I’m in principle digital photography.’”

On the earth/space ratio: “On Green Lantern two thirds is on Earth and a third is in space. All my stuff is in space, so all my scenes were in a big green room.”

Sinestro's looking to be the best part about this movie.
I still can't get behind Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordon tho. Reynolds IS the Flash. Watching the trailer for this movie makes it look as if Barry Allen got Green Lanterns powers for a day.

@WellDrawn - Oh come on man! He is no Allen or West in my eyes. He is all Jordan. Patrick Wilson is Allen. I think we all will be suprised by Green Lantern, I truly do.

@Angelus - Green Lantern's never been nearly as comical as they're obviously trying to make it

(admittedly it's not as bad as the Jack Black Green Lantern they were planning, but regardless)

I actually think Reynolds is a pretty good actor. My problem isn't so much with him or even whether or not he looks like Hal, it's with the comedy element that the filmmakers have put too much emphasis on.

Reynolds was obviously chosen just as much for his comedic chops as he was for his action-hero physique, which makes perfect sense considering the overall direction of this film, but for my money that's not the truest Hal Jordon we could have had.

Therefore, I'd rather not see Reynolds' comedic talents wasted on a serious Lantern, but put to good use with a potentially more funny character like the Flash (think about Flash's personality in Justice League TAS - Ryan Reynolds to a T)

@WellDrawn - I doubt we will ever see a truly incarnated comicbook character that everybody will agree has the perfect transition from paper to film.

Everybody who saw the Thor trailer noticed the humour there but nobody really gets upset about that(which I don't get). Thor will be serious, so will GL and Captain America. I just think the trailer humour was taken a bit out of context, and a terrible sequence to feature without adding anything more to it.

Now I don't really think it will as comical as you think it will be, I really do not think comedy will be a big part of Green Lantern.
- But you gotta admit Hal is kinda funny sometimes, being even outright inappropriate according to the current situation he is in.
I disagree with you on the Flash part but we will just have to wait and see WD. I hope as you it will turn out great. Coming of Buried, I honestly think this will be Reynolds best film, or even yet. I have no worries.

They should have asked him when the next trailer will be released. Oh well, he probably doesn't know anyways. I hope he plays a more vital role in the next trailer than just lifting his arms.
