"Yesterday after work I was listening to Gale King's talk show on AM 1150. She had Entertainment Weekly Managing Editor, Jess Cagle on discussing the Mel Gibson tapes. At the end of the discussion he was asked "so is Mel EW's cover story next week?" To which he replied, "no actually, next week's cover will be Ryan Reynolds as The Green Lantern so that should be pretty cool".

That could be interpreted a lot of ways of course, but it might be cool if you could snag an early shot of the cover if indeed it is actually Ryan in costume.

(For the easily confused, this picture is of an OLD EW cover with Ryan Reynolds. The new cover shot will be much more... GREEN.)

I was thinking the same as IGirl - about a CU and just seeing the ring. Of course, I think it was EW that had the 1st pic of all the Watchmen in costume/cgi on a cover before anyone else so it could be true. Besides, Warner Bros. who, I believe is producing GL is also the parent company of EW, which make a lot of sense for them to get it 1st.

OMG this will force me to purchase the next EW magazine lol. Green Lantern will look badass! Ryan Reynolds actually looks like Hal if you look closely. Not on this cover but some other pics of him look more like Hal Jordan.
