Ryan Reynolds Rumored To Return As Green Lantern For ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE Cameo

It may seem hard to believe (wait until you see the source), but a new rumor doing the rounds online is claiming that Ryan Reynolds in set to return as Green Lantern for Zack Snyder's Justice League...

Does anyone really believe that Ryan Reynolds would suit-up as Green Lantern again after that disastrous 2011 outing? Grace Randolph does!

The YouTube host is known for posting some pretty out there stuff, and has actually become a bit of a laughing stock in certain circles (the internet), but she has been known to share the occasional story that has panned out. We're not suggesting this will be one of them, but we figured it was worth the chuckle.

Yes, Ms. Randolph's latest "scoop" claims that Reynolds is set to reprise the role of Hal Jordan for a cameo appearance in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Could there be any truth to this? Well, Reynolds has always been happy to make fun of his take on the ring-slinging hero, so we could maybe see him agreeing to a brief appearance for the laugh - but even that seems highly unlikely.

But hey, if this pans out, we will indeed remember where we heard it first, Grace.

I Thought Ryan wanted nothing to do with the character anymore.

We all know that Green Lantern was not up to the highest levels of superhero cinema. Not even close. However, I think people damned it more for what it could have been (The Last Starfighter) instead of what it was (CW-level storytelling). Parts of it were enjoyable.

I say give Reynolds another shot with better writers. He fits the role.

@TheBatlist - I agree it got more grief than it deserved although the villains were terrible. I thought Reynolds did fine with what he had to work with. I didn’t see the movie as especially bad, but definitely underwhelming.

@TheBatlist - YES!!! THE LAST STARFIGHTER!! That’s the tone!!!! Mix it with some slight bad boys vibes and I swear Green lantern would be sooo incredible. Ryan Reynolds has the serious chops too but god that first green lantern was god awful. I remember him using the ring to catch a helicopter and run it on a RaceTrac.....and I just sank into the seat at the theatre. The stuff on the lantern planet was soo good, Mark strong as sinestro as well....there was so much potential.

@JustAChillFan - I have been in utter bafflement at DC's recent nostalgia for the early/mid 2010s, especially after Aquaman and Joker made a billion each, but this is too far even for them. This is just Grace Randolph making up a fake scoop for clicks.

That's cool actually. Ryan was a pretty good Hal Jordan, wouldn't mind him playing the character in the DCEU.

Hahaha no. Come on. Where's Ashton Kutcher? WB is doing the biggest episode of Punk'd ever

This could actually work, if they brought him in as more matured, seasoned, Green Lantern that has actually grown into the role as the greatest Green Lantern. Depending on what they are doing with the Green Lantern movie/TV show this could transition into Hal Jordan passing the torch to John Stewart.

Ryan has made fun of his GL so many times, that there is no way this is true. Why would Snyder or anyone want associate that GL movie with their work. Not like the tones or style match or anything.

You know what... if they ever do a Crisis on Infinite Earths (again, I guess), they should bring back Ryan Reynolds for a cameo where he’s upset no one contacted him to help fight Anti-Monitor

@DaHyro - I doubt they'll do crisis again in the current set up. Both the Arrowverse and the DCEU would have to end for another shared franchise to spring up and do their take on it. But they could do a version of Infinite Crisis though.

While I'm pretty sure this is "fake news", I wouldnt mind it if it's true. Ryan Reynolds IMO made a decent attempt at the role, I just think that some of the other characters were too much of a joke for the storyline. Yes, Reynolds has made his fair share of comedic opinions about the movie, but think about what kind of actor he is...would it really be that much of a surprise if he turned down a possible comedic cameo??

So if we're continuing the "This was Snyder's vision all along" route we're expected to believe that Ryan Reynolds of all people has been quiet all this time about his cameo?

@Reeds2Much - You do know people involved in projects don’t have the obligation to give every piece of info to satisfy the internet’s insatiable appetite to know every detail, right? Time will reveal if he is or isn’t involved.
