Andy Park's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Concept Art Shows New Looks For Gamora And Nebula

Andy Park has revealed more of his incredible work for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 showing an alternate rocker take on Gamora and a closer look at Nebula's initial appearance in the sequel...

The appearance of the team in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 wasn't all that different to their debut back in 2014, but new concept art from Marvel Studios artist Andy Park has offered up a fun new take on Gamora. As you can see below, he went down a different route for the character played by Zoe Saldana as he and director James Gunn looked for "a rock star vibe" for both her and the other heroes.

Park has also shared an awesome shot of Karen Gillan as Nebula. Rather than offering an alternate take on the villain, this piece gives us a detailed look at her initial battered appearance in the sequel.

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 now in theaters and making big money at the worldwide box office, we hopefully have more artwork like this to look forward to over the coming weeks and months. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on these designs in the comments section down below.

@EdgyBillCipher - in that one picture with RDJ and Holland it looked like Star-Lord still had the same red jacket sadly.

Can anyone explain for me why in the movie Gamora picked up the big guns and fired at the spaceship where Nebula was inside? She didn't think she could have killed her sister?
NoAssemblyReqd
NoAssemblyReqd - 5/19/2017, 4:22 AM
@KIDCOM - She was both really angry in the moment, and confident the ship was sturdy enough to take a beating.

It's a lot easier psychologically to kill someone from a distance than face-to-face, as we see moments later when Nebula is unable to kill Gamora when she has the upper hand.

@KIDCOM - I honestly don't think she cared. Up until that point Gamora was tired of negotiating with Nebula and thought she was too far gone. But then Nebula admitted that she just wants a sister and Gamora saw her sister can be saved.

@SonOfAGif - ok so just like Thor to Loki

@KIDCOM - I think she wanted to kill her at first, then when she saw how vulnerable Nebula was when her leg was caught her BIG Sister instincts kicked in.

@NoAssemblyReqd - "Thor and Loki and Gamora and Nebula need to form a support group."

gives me a great idea for a new meme.

I hope we see some form of Gamora's white spacesuit. She looks amazing (in the comics) kicking ass in that get-up.

@NoAssemblyReqd - Thats all i really want....ok and maybe Starlords helmet and Drax with something a little overkill in the bladed weapon department.

@Illium -
Not to mention some evidence that Gamora is actually the most dangerous woman in the universe.
Illium
Illium - 5/19/2017, 4:47 AM
@KrazyForKomix - Actually there was a part in the first movie that really took that away from her and kind of annoyed me. The bounty hunter was kicking her ass. For some reason that was cut of out the movie on netflix.

@Illium - What bounty hunter?
Illium
Illium - 5/19/2017, 5:54 AM
@jakmanuk - There was a scene on knowhere that had a bounty hunter track Gamora and fight her. It was in the cut in Aus on opening day but i cant find a reference to it anymore

@Magus - was def in the movie, I remember walking out thinking how much that bit bugged me when she should have had no issue with taking him on. Im damn sure but i cant find anything even under deleted scenes...

@KrazyForKomix - How about some evidence that Drax is the only being in the universe powerful enough to kill Thanos? My boy needs some love.

A little off topic but in GOT2 Drax said his turds were famously large, is it possible in this movie universe he got the nickname 'the destroyer' for what he did to the bathroom in prison?

I hope we eventually get nebulas black hair look. The way Ron lim drew her in the comics with a half shaved look could totally work with Karen Gillian's features.

This is totally off-topic but was looking at the inhuman pics and I'm not sure if Medusa's wig is the issue or the shape of actresses face.I have seen other pictures of the same actress with long dark hair and it really doesn't look that good she is a beautiful girl but has a very distinct strong features

@KingNomarch - Nice. Cinematography looks great. Medusa is the only disappointment so far.

Sooooo did anyone else think Nebula's make up looks way more painted on for VOL2? In VOL1 it looked more like mechanical parts on her head, in V2 it looked super painted on.
Maybe its because the scenes in V1 were in a dimmer lighting and harder to notice.

Didn't ruin anything for me, I just felt like there were certain moments when the metal parts around her eye looked painted rather than metallic.
