It's been weeks since James Gunn was fired by Disney but the aftermath is still being felt and we've heard conflicting reports about whether or not he will ultimately helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is reportedly fighting Gunn's corner and the threequel's entire cast has spoken out in his defence as part of an open letter declaring their support for their friend.
Now, Chris Pratt has talked more about that and how he's feeling right now. "It’s not an easy time," he explained in a recent interview with AP. "We all love James and he’s a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what’s right and be the best people we can be."
To me, it sounds like Pratt will return to the role of Star-Lord whatever happens and that makes sense as he would be foolish to walk away from the role. Asked what it was like to learn about Gunn's firing the day before he appeared at Comic-Con in July, the actor made it clear that it wasn't exactly easy.
"I love going to Comic-Con but I ended up not doing a lot of interviews around that time just because it was so shocking," Pratt added. "All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it. And I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it. And we were pretty clear and honest about how we feel."
