Chris Pratt Talks More About James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Departure: "It's Not An Easy Time"

Chris Pratt was among the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cast members to sign an open letter supporting fired filmmaker James Gunn and the Star-Lord actor has now talked more about how he's feeling...

It's been weeks since James Gunn was fired by Disney but the aftermath is still being felt and we've heard conflicting reports about whether or not he will ultimately helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is reportedly fighting Gunn's corner and the threequel's entire cast has spoken out in his defence as part of an open letter declaring their support for their friend.

Now, Chris Pratt has talked more about that and how he's feeling right now. "It’s not an easy time," he explained in a recent interview with AP"We all love James and he’s a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what’s right and be the best people we can be."

To me, it sounds like Pratt will return to the role of Star-Lord whatever happens and that makes sense as he would be foolish to walk away from the role. Asked what it was like to learn about Gunn's firing the day before he appeared at Comic-Con in July, the actor made it clear that it wasn't exactly easy.

"I love going to Comic-Con but I ended up not doing a lot of interviews around that time just because it was so shocking," Pratt added. "All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it. And I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it. And we were pretty clear and honest about how we feel."

What do you guys think of these remarks? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

Who ya got for Guardians 3?

Theyll probably ask Peyton Reed or someone else in house but I hope they get more creative and try to get someone out of the box.
Even Tim Miller would be good or Chad Stahelski.

@DCFilmJunkie - Please no Reed. He continues to be underwhelming. Ant-Man and the Wasp was his moment to prove something, I just don't get anything from his films.

It has to be an odd situation to be in but if the Edgar Wright situation has taught us anything, it's that the show goes on.

I have no doubt they'll all come back and I am also optimistic Gunn will be back In some capacity

@MyCoolYoung - exactly, once we found out fiege was on his side you know James will have a lot to do with it even it is behind closed doors

@MyCoolYoung - Well why not Edgar Wright? That would be some cosmic justice.

@Ryos - agreed and Gunn has been pretty quiet on the matter. Something is going on behind the scenes and if not James has become comic book movies most eligible bachelor of sorts. He'll find something plus if he was spearheading marvel cosmic before his departure his blueprint will be all over these movies.

@MarkV - were his disputes with marvel in the ike era?

@MyCoolYoung - I think they should bring back Gunn and bring back Rosanne and let viewers decide on what they want to watch and how to protest on their own. I hate when anyone tries to tell people what to do, how to think, how to act. In the old days, jokes were jokes and bad jokes led to people not watching shows and their eventual end. Rosanne will be forever disliked by me for her disgusting national anthem rendition, but I'm a proponent of freedom.

Bring them both back over failed jokes. Let us decide their fates.

@MarkV - Maybe because they don't want to wait till 2034 guardians3?

@TheGoat - I definitely can agree with this. I guess the networks don't want to be associated with their opinions but things past and people forget protest.

All of those sponsors who bailed on tiger woods saw that. Nike stood with him and even though he's not what he use to be, his situation is rarely brought up.

This two word combination, "makes sense," appears in every Wilding article. Go ahead. Look yourself.

Whatever is being reported always "makes sense."

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - something not obvious is always also described as "clearly"

Can't forget "sounds to me" or "one can assume"

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - If you take each letter in "makes sense" cross referenced with the date of every Wilding article since 2015, then look at the word count of those articles, you will come across the fact, that I have no idea what I'm talking about.

The MCU Has a lot of unexplored potential. I’ll say it’s not even at the peak yet. Marvel studios is a Disney subsidiary but I don’t think Disney should make decisions to fire or hire actors that should be left to the studio heads. If Disney keeps up this reactionary firing of people they will destroy everything that has been built. They fired Gunn with no backup plan and the Guardians are a major franchise now. You can’t cancel it. It’s too big of a household name now.

@PantherKing - What makes you think they have no backup plan? One of the largest companies in the world has no backup plan?? Just because they haven't told you what it is doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

@Curlyhairfro - what makes me think so? I’m pretty sure there was an article says that they haven’t started looking for replacements yet. Also if they were we’ll be hearing rumors of director short lists by now. Get your head out your ass I love Disney but they’re foolish and they have no backup plan. If they don’t set this mess straight Guardians 3 won’t be shooting anytime soon.

@PantherKing - I think you are being naive there. Of course they have a backup plan, but to lean it your way, I'm sure it's a vague one. My guess is the Russos or maybe their go to guy Favreau would be the one to step in for a Marvel emergency if needed. In this case they would have a little time to shop for a replacement.
