GOTG VOL. 2 Actor Sean Gunn Says Marvel Has "Every Intention" Of Using His Brother's Script For VOL. 3
Sean Gunn, who plays Kraglin in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, comments on his brother being fired as director on the third installment, and suggests that the studio still intends to use his script...
Yes, Marvel does still intend to use James Gunn's script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3... at least according to his brother.
After Gunn was fired from the project when a series of highly offensive Tweets resurfaced, many wondered if the studio would also throw out the director's script and start afresh or keep his original story. Now, Sean Gunn (Kraglin) has shed some new light on the situation.
“I don’t really know yet what’s going on with Guardians 3,” he revealed in an interview with Tulsa World. “I know that Disney still wants to make the movie. I know that they have every intention of using the script that my brother wrote."
Last we heard, Marvel had put the threequel on hold while the search for a new director gets underway, and while they are expected to return to the project at some point, the decision has clearly led to a lot of uncertainty among the cast and crew.
“Obviously, that was a very unfortunate situation for everybody, most of all him," Sean continued. "But I am also somebody who had been preparing to spend half a year making that movie and now that’s up in the air.”
Despite heavy backlash from fans and even some involved with the film, Disney CEO Bob Iger recently announced that he'd be standing by the final decision of his executives and would not be rehiring Gunn.
