Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn has delivered his final Marvel Studios project (for the foreseeable future, at least), and as co-head of DC Studios, will now turn his full attention to the DCU slate.
The filmmaker has already confirmed that a new version of Batman will be introduced in The Brave and The Bold, and since he tends to work with the same actors quite a bit, fans have been wondering if it might turn out to be someone from the GOTG movies.
During an interview with Yahoo, Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) was asked if he'd pitched the DC character he'd most like to play yet. Gunn joked that "Catwoman is not gonna happen," but Pratt had a much better idea.
"Batman... it's just what America wants, and the rest of the world."
He's joking (obviously), but does go on to give us a demonstration of the "Bat-voice" he'd use if he were to ever suit-up as the iconic hero, and, honestly, we could see it catching on.
Gunn has stated that he will most likely cast an unknown (or lesser known) actor as the Man of Steel for Superman: Legacy, so he might well take the same approach with the new Caped Crusader. As far as we know, work hasn't even commenced on the script for The Brave and the Bold, so it's probably going to be quite a while before we get any casting updates.
