Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 features plenty of great cameos (you can find our breakdown here), but there's one that we definitely missed on a first viewing.
The filmmaker enlisted a number of actors and friends he's worked with in the past, including Nathan Fillion, Daniela Melchior, Michael Rooker, and Jennifer Holland. However, the latter wasn't the only Peacemaker star who appeared as Gunn has now confirmed that Eagly was also part of the Marvel Studios threequel.
The bird, who was Christopher Smith's sidekick in The Suicide Squad spin-off on HBO Max, can be seen when Rocket comes across the baby raccoons being kept in captivity by The High Evolutionary.
Eagly is in the cage beneath them and presumably escapes alongside his fellow prisoners courtesy of the Guardians.
As well as confirming Eagly's presence in the blockbuster, Gunn would later go on to explain why he tends to work with the same actors from project to project.
We're sure Gunn has included plenty more surprises in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 that have yet to be discovered, while the mystery Easter Egg from the first movie still hasn't been figured out. Hopefully, someone can deduce that now the third movie has been shared with the world, though nearly a decade on, it remains a mystery to us despite some great guesses over the years.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now playing in theaters.
