With work on The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special now completed, shooting is continuing on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In these latest photos shared by JustJared.com, we see Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) rocking the team's classic comic book uniforms.
These were, of course, most heavily featured in the Annihilation era of storytelling before 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy movie led to the comic book team receiving an MCU-style makeover.
Perhaps even more interesting are the shots of a number of aliens with animal-like faces. With The High Evolutionary expected to appear in Vol. 3 as the movie's big bad, we're guessing that Rocket's creator has advanced with experiments to a point where he's creating these hybrid beings.
Things are clearly going to get weird in the threequel, and seeing as the Guardians don't have "official" uniforms in Thor: Love and Thunder, we can't help but wonder who the heroes are working for now. The Nova Corps is no more after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, though there's every chance Star-Lord and company have finally decided to just start dressing like a team!
Regardless, they look awesome, and we're intrigued to see where this movie takes the Guardians.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.
