New HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE CGI Animated Series Coming To Netflix

Netflix has announced that a new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe CGI animated series is on the way, which will be an entirely separate project to Kevin Smith's Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

We found out back in August that Kevin Smith was working on a new 2D He-Man animated series for Netflix that would serve as a follow-up to the original '80s show, and it's now been announced that the streaming giant is also developing a CGI Masters of the Universe reboot.

This second series Will "reimagine the Masters of the Universe classic tale with all-new storylines and a fresh take on the iconic characters," The show is being executive produced by Adam Bonnett (Descendants), Christopher Keenan (Justice League), Rob David (Masters of the Universe: Revelation), Jeff Matsuda (The Batman), Susan Corbin (Voltron), and Arrow’s Bryan Q Miller.

So Netflix will have She-Ra, two He-Man animated series, and there was talks about the live action movie ending up there. Someone must really love MOTU there

In May 2009, it was announced that Batman: The Widening Gyre would be written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by Walt Flanagan. Months earlier, both had completed Batman: Cacophony. As Smith explained it, the series will have 12 issues split into two six-issue books. Book 1 was supposed to run from August 2009 to January 2010 and, after a six-month hiatus, Book 2 would run from July 2010 through December 2010.[3] However, Book 1 was plagued by several hiatuses and ran to July 2010 and Book 2 was pushed to late 2013.[4] Ultimately, after further delays on Book 2, Smith decided to turn the second half of Batman: The Widening Gyre into a separately titled miniseries called Batman: Bellicosity.[1]
