It was revealed last year that director Neil Marshall and Stranger Things star David Harbour are teaming up for a very different take on Hellboy to what we got from Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman's movies. For starters, it's going to have an R-Rating and will stick a little closer to the source material but we will see the return of Professor Broom, Hellboy's adoptive father and B.P.R.D. founder.

He'll be played by Ian McShane and the Game of Thrones actor has now revealed that this version of Broom will have a different dynamic with Hellboy to what we've previously seen on the big screen.

"You don’t start with the birth of Hellboy," he confirmed, "but the relationship between [Hellboy and Broom] is quite crusty. Does he trust his father? [Hellboy asks], ‘Why didn’t you kill me? I’m a monster.’ It’s a little bit of a psychological battle against Hellboy. There’s one important moment in [the film] when [Hellboy] sort of thinks he’s fighting his own people, the outsiders. So, he’s being used by the insiders, which is me, if you like." That sounds very intriguing and should be fun to see!

As for whether or not his performance is inspired by the late John Hurt in any way, McShane added: "I’m sort of playing this part as a slight homage to John [Hurt]. I mean, I’m not playing it like him, obviously… but the relationship [with Hellboy] is very much the same." Are you excited for Hellboy?

Josh must either not watch Thrones or be somewhat moronic to think a fifteen minute guest spot in a single episode, six seasons in means he's one of the stars in the show...

@Canon108 -Exactly. I had to look at his wiki to recall he appeared and died in one episode. Remember we have to refer to Ed Sheeran as GoT actor now.

The guy is one of the greatest actors of all time, starring in movies and acclaimed series like Deadwood, Kings, Ray Donovan and recently American Gods, but the autor of the text refers to him as an actor of a single episode of Game of Thrones?!

Something is really wrong:P

@Ancar - Not just an actor, he refered to him as a star of the show...after 10-15min of screentime in a single episode of season 6

...and the image in the post isn't even from GoT, it's from American Gods.

After his McShane's description of GOT as 'just tits with dragons', can't wait for his reductive description of Hellboy.
