ARMY OF THE DEAD Behind-The-Scenes Image Gives Us A First Look At One Of The Movie's Zombies

Ahead of Thursday's trailer, a new behind-the-scenes photo from Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead provides a first look at one of the zombie heist movie's walking dead as it attacks Dave Bautista's character.

Yesterday's revealing Vanity Fair article mainly focused on Zack Snyder's director's cut of Justice League, but it also touched on the filmmaker's upcoming Netflix horror flick, Army of the Dead.

Up until now, all promotional material for the Netflix release has focused on the team of mercenaries that'll be braving an undead-infested Vegas, but this new behind-the-scenes shot gives us a first glimpse of one of the zombies as it leaps on top of Dave Bautista's character.

It looks like these brain-eaters will move faster than the shuffling creatures from Romero's movies and AMC's The Walking Dead.

Army of the Dead marks Snyder's return to the genre after his well-received remake of George Romero's classic Dawn of the Dead. There's been some speculation that AOTD could be a direct sequel, since Snyder has previously referred to it as a "spiritual successor" to his 2006 film.

There is also an anime prequel in the works that'll focus on Dave Bautista's character, Scott Ward, and the events surrounding the zombie outbreak.

The first trailer for Army of the Dead will be with us this Thursday, and the movie is set to premiere on Netflix on May 21.
