Says the report, "Like Fuller’s previous series, Pushing Daisies, The Munsters calls for striking visuals mixed with all the classic Munsters archetypes, and NBC had been looking for a top director to create the visual world of The Munsters circa 2011. The pilot for Fuller’s Pushing Daisies also was directed by a feature helmer, Barry Sonnenfeld, who earned an Emmy for his work. The first pilot Singer directed was House, and he continues to serve as an executive producer on the long-running Fox medical drama."

Singer has most recently directed Jack the Giant Killer.

They're actually going with this reboot? Rebooting a classic like the Munsters? Okay, remember when they that there were going to do a Wonder Woman show on NBC? And then all of a sudden they dropped it? Yeah, I have a feeling that they're going to do the same with this.
Buuut, I'll hold my judgement until I see this. Oh well.

Hm. Doesn't make any sense. Never saw Singer as someone who'd do Munsters. Oh well.

@Spidey63 Sadly I can see the pilot getting aired. Watch them try to make it like Twilight.

Great, now Singer will turn the Munsters in gay metaphors just like he did to the X-Men. Your faggotry bores me Mr. Singer, and this tactic of yours further validates the fact that you're a hack.

@cable23 - Dear Lord, I hope that they don't go down that road. Pleeaaase don't!!

The Munsters were mostly comedic, NOT dramatic and dark like Twilight. *Shudders*

Relax, peeps. It's not Singer, it's Bryan Fuller. Think Pushing Daisies, not Usual Suspects.

I don't think it's going to be anything like Twilight. It's not going to be straight up dramatic. It will probably be very similar to Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies, which will be very interesting.A dramatic series, with a healthy dose of dark humor and fantasy.

As a fan of Fuller, I'm really looking forward to his take on it.

@zIGGY. I actually found McKellen's Mags to have charisma which is something that the comic Mags has in spades. As for him being a physical threat, he is a Holocaust survivor. NO 80 year old man looks as good as comic Mags does

NOOOO! WHY HIM? WHYYYY?
X-MEN first class was ok because it wasn't directed by him. But he is going to mess up what little chance this has to be a success...

what is it with this guy and remakes? They only thing that i lied by him was Apt Pupil, and that was a Stephen King story so I give no credit to singer for that one.

@Ziggy. Trust me, I know who he is. I've been a fan of his for as long as I can remember. His final speech in Blade Runner still gives me chills, I also like him in 10th Kingdom.

I just think Mckellen was perfect for the way the role was written.
