Still no sign of a trailer (we might just get one by the weekend, so keep an eye out), but thanks to Fangoria Magazine's latest cover (via FearHQ), we do have a chilling new look at Jamie Clayton's Pinhead from Hulu's upcoming Hellraiser reboot.

Clayton taking over the role of the Hell Priest has come in for some backlash from the "anti-woke" brigade, but despite being played by Doug Bradley in the original movie, the character was actually written as androgynous in Clive Barker's The Hellbound Heart novella.

"We felt a kind of anticipation around the fans to reimagine the character," director David Bruckner tells EW. "We knew we wanted Pinhead to be a woman. Jamie was just the right person for the role. A person's identity can be really exciting for a role in many ways, but I have to emphasize that Jamie absolutely killed, that's how we got there."

The new issue of Fangoria will hit news-stands on October 11. Check out the cover below.

Barker's 1987 adaptation of his own novella introduced one of cinema's most recognizable and enduring movie monsters in Pinhead, the leader of a group of demonic beings known as Cenobites. The movie went on to achieve cult status, spawning multiple inferior sequels, a short-lived TV series, comic books, and more.

Specific details on this new version are still few and far between, but Bruckner recently gave us a better idea of what to expect. "It's the tale of a young woman, who's struggling with addiction and compulsive behavior, that comes in contact accidentally with the box and unfortunately begins to dabble with it. And chaos ensues."

Hellraiser is set to premiere on October 7.

@McMurdo - In the original novel Pinhead wasn't really a male or female. He was kind of ambiguous, but the way the author describes the voice makes it sound like a female's voice.

The movies made him a male to try and create another popular horror movie monster type character loke Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, etc.

@CorndogBurglar - and the naysayers are hanging their hat on what Barker said back in the day about Pinhead being a he. Who gives a rat's ass. It was the 80's, there's no way they could have gotten that script sold if Pinhead was trans or gender ambiguous

@GhostDog - it's not bad. It's not as good as the hype implies. Its a lot like a better horror film minus a cave lol

@McMurdo - I really enjoyed it. May be my favorite of the year. Justin Long and the lead actress were great. Next stop Pearl.

I've not seen her anywhere except Sense8, but I found she was quite annoying there sometimes in an otherwise amazing series. Hopefully this changes my mind

Fangoria I have issue 7 which is the first issue completely devoted to horror,I purchased it because it had a first look at The Shining which is my favourite horror movie.

Not sure whether to get it graded or put in a frame and hang it on my wall.

Seems like a bad thing that this comes out in less than four weeks and yet still no trailer.

I am intrigued by this and seems like they are trying to be closer to the source material with how Pinhead is portrayed here.

The Hellraiser franchise has not been good for a long time now.
IMO, the first HR film is the best and one of my favorite horror films.
HR 2 is very good and probably the only film in the series I consider to be a proper sequel.

HR 3 and 4 were fun, but by that point the series had veered into slasher movie territory and were no longer as interesting and lacked that creepy, unsettling factor the first two films had.

When are they going to release a trailer for this??
