Not exactly a CBM I know, I know...but I thought I would share my thoughts.

I won't lie. I love the Saw films. Yes, I have issues with some of the movies (Saw V, Saw 3D) but I still love to watch them. The first movie introduced something new to a horror movie that we had never seen before, something really good and creative.

The film's story revolves around two men who are chained in a dilapidated industrial bathroom and are each given instructions via a microcassette recorder on how to escape. One is told he must escape the bathroom, while the other is told to kill him before a certain time, or his family will die. Meanwhile, police detectives investigate and attempt to apprehend the mastermind behind the "game."

Cast is good and of course Tobin Bell stands out as Jigsaw. What I really like about the movie is how it kept me on the edge of my seat the 1st time I ever saw it. It just keep making you want to keep watching it. The storyline is something fresh and unique (well back then it was anyway before all the sequels!). Then of course there is the famous ending that we all know, which made many of us gasp in surprise when we first saw this I'm sure (I know I did lol).

So Saw really was a unique film for it's time and of course it has spawned six sequels, with the last installment released last year. But when your watching this movie, you'll love it from beginning to end (well I did anyway!).

9/10
